A LETTER FROM THE MOTHER OF A 15-YEAR OLD RAPE SURVIVOR
HEART

I would Like to take the time and let Operation Care
know how much you mean to my daughter And I

You are all ANGELS From Heaven above! You have become family to us.
All of you came in to my family's lives in the time of need. That was a painful day for my daughter and I.
We felt alone sitting in the hospital. But then walked in two angels
that opened up their hearts and hugged us and said "We Are Here For You and Your Daughter".

Unselfish human beings came to comfort my family. They have never left our side!!!!
For this you will always be in our hearts no matter how far we are.

You are ALL amazing ANGELS Thank You,Thank You, Thank You!

LOVE ALWAYS

Staff Spotlights
Janet
Janet Marsh, Program Specialist
For the next few issues, we will do a spotlight on members of our staff.

Janet Marsh

Janet came to Operation Care in December 2011 as a Program Specialist. Her job is to help victims of domestic violence or sexual assault by providing one-on-one peer counseling and support services such as assistance with the restraining order process, court accompaniment and advocacy.

When asked why she works at Operation Care, Janet said, "I once read a quote by an unknown author, 'I wondered why somebody did not do something.  Then I realized, I am somebody'. Ever since I read this quote I have tried to live by these words.  I am one person; however, I can accomplish many things by just doing. Helping women, children, and men who have suffered at the hands of others is my passion.  Every day, I set forth to make a change in the world, to make a difference in people's lives, one person at a time.

Janet earned her Bachelors of Arts at California State University, Monterey Bay in Collaborative Health and Human Services, with a dual concentration of social work and community health.  She worked in the Monterey Peninsula area until her recent move to Amador County when we were fortunate to add her to our "family". Welcome, Janet!
