Operation Care Welcomes New Executive Director
Operation Care's Board of Directors recently appointed Clara Osborne as new Executive Director, following an extensive and thorough search process.
"In order to carry on the mission of Operation Care, we required a combination of vision, compassion, and management expertise in its leader," said Linda Zender, president of the board of directors. "Clara has just this combination. Her community experience, track record of management success and commitment to survivors will be valued assets in our ongoing efforts to keep families safe."
"I am very gratified at having been selected as Operation Care's next Executive Director from a pool of highly qualified candidates," said Ms. Osborne. "I look forward to working with our board of directors, our talented staff and community to keep our mission alive."
Ms. Osborne most recently served as Executive Director for Alternatives to Violence in Red Bluff, California. She has experience working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and is a skilled manager with grant writing and contract expertise as well as budget planning. Clara is fluent in both English and Spanish. She was a member of the Tehama County Child Abuse Prevention Council, Public Health Advisory Board, Health Partnership, Community Involvement Committee and Continuum of Care. Ms. Osborne holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Simpson University.
"I have been entrenched in this work for the past three years, and I understand the needs of victims and their families," added Osborne. "One of my goals as director is to reach out to local residents in crisis and to educate the hard to reach population about services available to them."
At a recent board meeting, Linda Zender welcomed Clara and noted "The Board and staff are pleased and excited to have Clara join our team. She brings experience with building community and local agency relationships, and heading a domestic violence center and shelter. I know she will quickly become part of the fabric of Amador County."
Welcome Clara!
