Why Denim?
 Wearing jeans during April is a symbol of protest of harmful attitudes about rape in response to an Italian Supreme Court decision to overturn a rape conviction because the victim wore jeans. This decision did not recognize that coercion, threats, and force are a part of the act of rape regardless of what the victim may, or may not, be wearing.

Happy Spring!
The month of April is designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). Our goal is to raise public awareness about rape and to educate our community and individuals how to prevent sexual violence. During this month, we stop and take a moment to honor the strength of all survivors of rape. Our SAAM campaigns include Denim Day, and the "Human Ribbon" campaign.
April is also VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION MONTH, and I would personally like to thank all of the many volunteers that give of their hearts and their time! During this month, we also recognize these additional Campaigns:
- National Crime Victims Rights Week - April 18 - 24 - promoting victims' rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.
