THE LOVE BOAT Sets Sail
August 2nd!
Those of you who have attended past FACES performances know what a fun evening it will be...gather your friends and get your tickets now! Tickets are available at Operation Care (223-2897) or on line! Seating is limited.
The excitement of The Love Boat is coming to Amador County as the latest FACES OF AMADOR fun-filled presentation of local talent on Saturday, AUGUST 2.
Not only will you share the fun of the crew and their shenanigans, you'll be part of the stories of the passengers as only they could be told in true LOVE BOAT style.
The hilarious script is written by Susan Ross and the production will be directed by Giles Turner. Many local friends have volunteered to perform and make this a very special evening. Dick Carter is perfectly cast as Captain Stubing, Patty Claveran will portray a fun and energetic cruise director, Joseph Jordan is an inexperienced Yeoman Purser, and a host of other talent including Vince and Heather Murdock, Brad and Beth Barnard, Dan Mitchell, Steve Cannon, Suzie Evans, Bonnie Cannon, Kathleen Harmon, Susan Ross, Kathy Srsen, Kathy Payne, Karen Reed, and others! Music will be presented by Bill Chiechi.
We'll be including a meal of char-grilled steak sandwiches and accompaniments cooked by the mess crew of the Sutter Creek Native Sons of the Golden West, and a glass of fine wine sponsored by Bray Vineyards.
Show tickets will be sold for $40.00 per person (dinner and a glass of wine are included) so plan now to set sail on AUGUST 2, 2008! ALL ABOARD....

Soroptimist International of Amador County recently honored Lynn Shield, executive director of Operation Care with the "Making a Difference for Women Award". It is normally a non-monetary award honoring women who are making extraordinary differences in the lives of other women. The recipient has worked to improve the lives of women and girls, has had a significant impact on the lives of women and girls and inspires and encourages other women. This year, in addition to the honor, Soroptimist members voted to contribute $1,000 to Operation Care for the work we do. We wish to thank you for your continued support helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Amador County. In addition to services at our safe house, during 2007, Operation Care provided crisis intervention and counseling for 175 individuals, assisted with 46 restraining orders, offered court advocacy to 61 people, accompanied 13 rape victims to U.C. Davis for medical exams, and gave educational presentations to thousands of community members. We could not have accomplished any of this without your support. |
Thank you....
Lynn Shield, Executive Director Operation Care |
