Happy New Year!  It's hard to believe that 2010 is already here.  As each year passes, change is inevitable.  2010 brings a new staff and office for EDIN.  Katie Ghertner (Program Director) and I look forward to working with all of you to continue to support EDIN's goal of preventing all types of disordered eating through education, outreach and action.

As most of us do, you have probably made a host of New Year's resolutions -- many of which won't be kept.  One resolution I have made for 2010 is to give myself a break.  By that I mean that I will strive to work towards personal progress, not perfection.   We all have areas of our lives that need work, and this year my "resolution" is to balance my desire for personal betterment with realistic expectations.  Oftentimes, we are own worst critics.  Yet, the path towards growth is not paved with harsh words and critical thoughts but rather with hope, strength, and determination.

I hope you will join us for our 10th Annual Merrick's Walk. This 2.7-mile walk around the PATH at Chastain Park remembers Merrick Ryan, Galloway School alum who died of anorexia at the age of 19 in January 2000.  Merrick's Walk is more than just a walk - it's a community educated, a stigma reduced, an eating disordered prevented, a life saved.   Together we CAN make a difference.

Wishing you all the best in 2010,

Lisbeth Rhine, Interim Executive Director

Hi! I'm Sita, I'm 23 and I just graduated from Emory University this past August. I'm originally from New York City and came down here for school, but my boyfriend and I are in the process of buying a house in Smyrna so now I will be a Southerner! I went through treatment at Ridgeview Institute for an eating disorder in Spring 2008, and am looking forward to helping out EDIN with such a good cause. I am a huge animal lover, currently living with two cats and a dog, and am looking to expand when we move.

PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING EDIN DURING THIS CRITICAL TIME!
