Welcome to my first newsletter!
As the darkest day of the year approaches, and the holiday season is in full swing, I have been taking some lessons from the squirrels that greet me every morning. Squirrels are masters at preparing and accumulating, but they also teach us to balance such intention with play, gathering with giving. This time of year, is your running to and fro erratic, or with focused purpose and goals? Are you harmonizing doing with being? Overextending or storing your acorns?
So remember the teachings of these fluffy little gurus, to find your balance and stay healthy during this most wonderful time of the year.
Healthiest of Holidays and Happy New Year!

Dr Cory Joins Transcendentist Team!

I am pleased to announce that I will be joining forces with the
fabulous eco-dentist, Dr Fred Pockrass, DDS in Berkeley, to help
clients with mercury detox and naturopathic support for dental issues. This is truly a most exciting collaboration, as dental health is a direct reflection of whole-body health, and the
health of our body can be greatly impacted by any issues going on in
our mouth. I am privileged to be working with such an experienced biological dentist, who uses state of the art equipment and techniques, bio-compatible materials, is of the highest integrity and makes going to the dentist a safe, healthy, healing and enjoyable experience.I will be writing more each month about Our Mouths, Our Health in the future. For more about Transcendentist or to schedule an appontment...I will be seeing both Transcendentist and non-Transcendentist clients on Wednesdays starting January 8th.

Don't leave home without them...
During this time of holiday gluttony, I always carry these products in my bag o' tricks and my friends and family thank me for it.
1) Digestive Enzymes help you digest your food more easily. Sweets, high protein and rich fatty foods can put a lot of stress on our digestive tract which isn't really designed to process such large heavy meals. Similase is my personal favorite. Taking 2 caps before or even after meals can really help ease digestive distress.
Similase 180caps $40

2)Alcohol Detox Caps: I take these whenever I drink alcohol, even just a glass of wine. This formula helps support your body metabolize alcohol more easily, protecting your liver and minimizing hangover effects. Take 2-6 caps depending on your level of indulgence.
Alcohol Detox Caps 120caps $42

| Healing Soup for Colds and Flus
|

|
I prescribe this soup a lot during cold and flu season. Garlic has been shown to have anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic properties, so it helps with any kind of infection, and helps thin mucous. Hooray!
Ingredients: 28 ounces chicken broth or vegetable broth 1 bulb garlic (about 15 cloves) 5 sprigs parsley, minced 6 sprigs cilantro, minced 1 teaspoon lemon pepper (natural, salt-free or low-sodium brand) or juice of 1 lemon 1 teaspoon minced mint leaves 1 teaspoon minced sweet basil leaves 1 teaspoon curry powder
Directions: Peel the garlic cloves, and place with the other ingredients in a pan without a lid. Boil, then simmer for about 30 minutes. Pour through a fine strainer or cheese cloth to remove the solid contents. Or, the garlic and herbs can be minced up finely and left in the soup. I like to add chard, kale, celery, shitake mushrooms and carrots to make a more substantial soup. But if appetite is low, go for the strained soup.
Instructions for use: The fumes of the boiling soup and its constituents can be inhaled during its preparation. The soup and its constituents can be divided into 4-8 equal portions, each of which should be taken at the beginning of a meal, one to three times a day. A more dilute preparation may be preferred, both personally and socially, until you adapt to this therapy. I suggest fasting on this soup while you are sick.
