For the next few issues I'm going to 'showcase' a particular workshop to give you further insight into each topic.

Louise L Hay is a metaphysical teacher and bestselling author who successfully cured herself of cancer using the techniques described in her book 'You Can Heal Your Life'.
She is also known as one of the founders of the self-help movement. Her first book, Heal Your Body, was published in 1976, long before it was fashionable to discuss the connection between the mind and body. Through Louise's healing techniques and positive philosophy, millions have learned how to create what they want in their lives, including more wellness in their body, mind and spirit.

| Coaching Corner - What makes you tick? |

This month I'm taking a look at values, specifically your 'core' values. So, what are they and why do you need to be aware of them? Values are what makes you you, they are your guiding principles and what motivates you. They are your 'personal rules' by which you choose to live and they influence your emotions and behaviours and therefore have an enormous impact on what you do and say.
A core value is one that is relevant to all aspects of your life and when dishonoured can lead to stress, e.g. if 'family' is important to you, carrying out a values elicitation might expand this into connectedness, bonding, being together, spending time with loved ones e.g. If you then have to spend longer and longer hours at work (much as you might enjoy this on one level), it will be causing you to dishonour your 'family' value and therefore you will become more and more stressed. We also have values that are specific to particular areas of our lives such as relationships, career, health etc.
When you are aware of your values and are living in alignment with them you will more than likely feel as if everything is going your way and that you are achieving your goals quite easily. Indeed, setting yourself goals becomes much easier as you will know before you even attempt to tackle one whether or not it is likely to succeed.

I release the past with ease and I trust the process of life.
 Close the door on old, painful memories. Close the door on old hurts, old self righteous unforgiveness. You might take an incident in the past where there was pain and hurt - something that is hard for you to forgive or look at. Ask yourself "How long do I want to hold onto this? How long do I want to suffer because of something that happened in the past?" Now see a stream in front of you and take this old experience, this hurt, this pain, this unforgiveness, and put the whole incident in the stream and see it begin to dissolve and drift downstream until it totally dissipates and disappears. You do have the ability to let go. You are free. And so it is.

| Therapies Introduction |

I am qualified in Reiki, Colour Reiki, Crystal Healing, Colour Breathing and am a student of Quantum Touch, all of which are 'energy therapies'. Our physical body is surrounded by an invisible (to most) energetic body, or aura, made up of several layers representing emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of ourselves. Energy travels around the aura just as blood flows through our physical body - you may alreay be aware of this through therapies such as accupuncture? If blockages occur in our aura these can eventually permeate through the layers and potentially manifest as problems in our physical body. By keeping our aura clear and balanced through regular treatments - just as you might treat yourself to a massage - we hopefully ward off serious physical problems - unless it is our karma, but that's a whole different story!
