Support our work in 2010 and double your impact

Since it was founded 2000, the Conservation Campaign has provided leadership, expertise and resources to local and state advocates working pass ballot measures and legislation that dedicate public funds for conservation. This strategy has produced billions of dollars to prevent sprawl, protect open space and create parks.

However, as the recession and state budget problems stretch into 2010, we expect an uphill battle to win new conservation funding and defend critical state programs. Now, more than ever, we need your support. The assistance of the Conservation Campaign can make the difference in whether a funding measure passes or fails.

Here are some of the ways we will be working in 2010 to create, renew and defend conservation funding:

* TCC is sponsoring the Iowa Water and Land Legacy campaign to pass Iowa's first-ever constitutional amendment for dedicated conservation funding.

* Battles are raging over whether to continue funding for landmark conservation programs in Florida and Colorado. Our lobbyists will be fighting hard in the state capitols to defend the Florida Forever and Great Outdoors Colorado programs.

* We are working with statewide coalitions in Maine and Pennsylvania to get measures on the ballot to renew funding for the highly successful Land for Maine's Future and Grower Greener programs.
