To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.

For many of us the end of summer means shorter days and colder temperatures.  This means it can be harder to stay healthy, fit and focused at work.

Keep reading for tips from three inspiring (and healthy!) speakers on how to stay fit and focused in the fall.

Here are some simple ways to stay motivated through the fall months:

1.Sign up for a spring charity run/walk/bike ride to keep you focused on a goal. You'll find that if you something to prepare for, it gives your workouts (even in the gym) a renewed sense of purpose.

2. Work out in the morning or at lunch (latest). It's already cold and dark after work, so its exponentially harder to drag yourself anyplace but home afterward.

3.Find a friend/coach to meet you in a certain place at a certain time 3-4 times each week, or find a gym that has fun cardio/strength/stretching workouts in a time slot that works for your schedule. If you have a friend waiting for you or a specific start time for a class you've paid for (or better yet, love), there's a MUCH greater chance that you'll actually show up and make it happen.

4.Last but not least, before you go to bed every night, take 30 seconds to visualize where you want to be in the New Year--how you will look and feel, where you will be in your career, what goals you would like to have accomplished and what new ones lie ahead. Its simple to do, and its a truly powerful tool.

Winning in sport, business and life takes many skill sets, habits and the right resources. Through over a decade on the World Cup circuit I was able to test what worked for my body and what didn't. Now that I'm an executive (and I'm working out less often) I continue testing to see what can help me stay healthy and energetic throughout the work week.

With fall fast upon us I've found a few tricks over the years that help with energy and health.

1.Drink the obvious 8 glasses of water a day, plus your multi vitamins and omega 3's (oils).

2. Drink 2 glasses or bottles of carbonated water each day

3. Drink 1 glass of tomato juice per day

4. Don't use a computer or smart phone 30 minutes before lights out.

I've found these 4 simple actions help keep me healthy, alert and energetic in the fall despite the shorter days and falling temperatures. I hope they do the same for you. Cheers to better health and energy.

With days getting shorter and cooler weather on the way, staying healthy during the fall is paramount to giving our best to our co-workers, family and friends. Here are five smart tips to keep you fit for the fall.

1.Stay active. Don't lose sight that our bodies need movement.  A minimum of 30-minutes every day of vigorous activity such as a brisk walk or morning swim.

2.Hydrate. Drink water - 6-8 glasses a day.  80% of people are dehydrated which leads to lethargy, poor digestion and slower brain functions.

3.Stretch. You don't need to become Gumby, but daily stretching the main muscle groups of the body reduces stress while keeping limbs and joints flexible and strong.

4.Sleep. Fatigue makes cowards of us all.  Get at least seven hours a night...if eight, you're a champ!

5.Balance. We've all been given only one life to live.  Be alert enough to build balance into each day.
