California Department of Education  Releases Elementary and Middle School 21st CCLC RFA
The California Department of Education has released the Elementary and Middle School 21st Century Community Learning Centers RFA.

California's 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program provides funding to create incentives for establishing before-and after-school enrichment programs. The funding is designed to create partnerships between schools and communities to provide academic and literacy support, and safe, constructive alternatives for youth.

CDE has $16 million available in funding, and each recipient is eligible for awards between $50,000 - $150,000. The deadline to submit an application is January 30, 2009. CDE anticipates notifying award recipients by June 30, 2009.
