Greetings!
Fall, football and friends - what a great time of year! We just returned from our Business of Design Conference in Las Vegas. We are overwhelmed with loads of new information and creative inspiration. We will be sharing much of this with you over the next few months.
Given that we love to create, write and photograph our work, our inspirations and beauty overall, we have officially been consumed by the "social media bug". We have been busy "twittering" and are working on the creation of our blog which will partner with our website. More information to come on this too!
In the meantime, we appreciate the recent calls now that the kids are back in school and many of you need our help prior to holiday visitors! With the economy still ramping back up, we find ourselves doing many "one room" projects which is fine with us! Please don't feel like you need to have a massive project and big budget to give us a call.

Designer Spotlight

 This month, we are the Designers in the Spotlight for Company C Rugs. This week, we were interviewed by the company on TalkShoe.com. To listen to our interview, click on the Talkshoe link and then click on the 9/14 episode.
When we were interviewed, the host asked us where our design inspirations come from. Our answer was that most of the time, it comes from something colorful and full of texture - a rug, a fabric, a pillow or a piece of art. When you have that one amazing inspiration piece, it takes the pressure off of other things in the space to be WOW. When you have a rug like this limited edition "Give a Hoot" rug from Company C, you can design an entire room around it! Guess what? This one even has a pole pocket sewn on the back so it can be a wall hanging!

Only in Vegas Baby!

 One of my favorite quotes is "You are only as good as what you've been exposed to, so see as much of the world as you can." For us as designers, this means scouting out places and experiences that give us realistic, creative inspiration. This photo was taken at the Society Club Restaurant at The Encore Hotel in Vegas (yummo food). The ambience in the restaurant is one of whimsical sophistication - right up our alley! Even though this restaurant is in the heart of one of the most gorgeous hotels in all of Vegas, the color, symmetry and creative genius of this wall is something that anyone could copy in their home (ok maybe you'll need our help just a little).

Rebuild, Reuse, Repurpose

 Remember last month when we discussed what the kids are learning in school about Reuse, Recyle, and Reduce? Well, our message continues with a twist.
Now for us, re-purposing is FUN, FUN, FUN!!! We found two of these terrific retro styled diner benches in an antique market for $195 each (in perfect condition)! How much fun would it be to put these in a basement - "Happy Days" style? No worries about dirty fingers, feet or spilling drinks with these benches! Bright, cool and fun for all ages. Remember - every time you "Rebuild, Reuse or Repurpose", you are not only creating a unique possession for your home, but you are helping the environment!
