August 2007
Dear ,
Door County Maritime Museum Brian Kelsey
The Maritime Friends' Summer Concert Series and the 17th Annual Classic & Wooden Boat Show have come and gone which means summer is slowly drawing to a close.  With how dry and hot it has been this summer, I, for one, am hoping for a winter full of snow to help replinish our flowers and lawn, as well as my well!

But, whilst summer is still here, it is important to get out and enjoy the sunlight, warmth and water that make this time of year so special.  And, what better way to do this than by booking passage on the Door County Maritime Museum's annual Members' Cruise?  Details can be found below and remember, the deadline is this Friday, August 17th.

Thank you for your continued support of the Museum's three locations!

Gently Used Maritime Books"Gently Used" Maritime Book Sale!

Thank you very much to the eight Museum friends who donated books for the sale. These books were more "like new" than gently used and many were collectible. Although half of the books sold, about 200 books remain that are mainly non-fiction, covering topics such as Lord Nelson, naval ships, boat safety, and boat building. If you were unable to attend the Classic & Wooden Boat Show last weekend and are interested in checking out the books available for purchase, please make an appointment with Trudy at the Museum (743-5958) to view the books and make purchases.

Thank you!

17th Annual Door County Maritime Museum Classic & Wooden Boat Show A Huge Success!

Over 2,400 individuals graced the grounds of the Door County Maritime Museum on August 4 - 5, 2007 to help us celebrate the annual Classic & Wooden Boat Show.  This event would not be possible without the amazing volunteers who help with all aspects of the show.  A BIG thank you to all of those individuals who volunteered this year!

Many individuals were unable to join us for the awards ceremony Sunday afternoon, therefore all of the results have been posted to our website and can be found by visiting www.dcmm.org/boatshowresults.html.

Thank you to all of the exhibitors and Sikaflex Challenge participants for without them, we would not have such a wonderful show.

Mark your calendars as the 18th Annual Door County Maritime Museum Classic & Wooden Boat Show is scheduled for August 2 & 3, 2008.
