Washington DC Jurisdiction

Good afternoon Saints,

God continues to bless His people!

I'm excited to announce that multiple Stellar Award winner, singer/songwriter, Minister Isaiah D. Thomas and the Elements of Praise, will now be joined by  multiple Stellar Award winner Maurette Brown Clark, as they join our jurisdiction choir in the kick-off our celebration of the Jurisdiction's Holy Convocation week.  (See their Bios below)

Both Maurette Brown Clark and  Minister Isaiah D. Thomas are joining Bishop Neavelle A. Coles and the  Washington DC Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ Music Department in support of the annual Sunday Musical kick-off and celebration of our Jurisdiction Holy Convocation, at New Bethel, Sunday, August 5th at 5 PM.

There has not been this much excitement and buzz about a Sunday musical  kick-off of an upcoming Washington, DC Jurisdiction Holy Convocation in years.  Frankly, this is simply the beginning... stay tuned to my emails.

Forward this email to family members, friends, neighbors, and co-workers that are lost, unchurched and unsaved.  Add this event to your social networking sites for the same.  We are planning a standing room only event.

Let us use next week, beginning with the Sunday, August 5th musical,  as a baseline for a Spiritual renewal across our jurisdiction,  using the musical and our praise and worship services for Outreach invitations,  holding our brothers and sisters Accountable for their support of God's work, jurisdictional work and national work, using this years Jurisdiction Holy Convocation as a Resource  for  rebuilding, and taking us to a "New Level" of S.O.A.R.

Everyone, enjoy a couple of You Tube sessions from the two multiple Stellar Award winning artists I'm excited to have the opportunity to bring to you this Sunday, August 5th.   Thank you Bishop Coles  for this humble opportunity to serve and deliver!

Maurette Brown Clark
Maurette Brown Clark

Multiple Stellar Award Winner, Maurette Brown Clark, is one of Gospel music's sweethearts. Originally from Long Island, New York, Maurette began her singing career with her family group. Throughout her formative years, she continued singing with choirs, groups, as well as studying classical piano.

Maurette's first CD, How I Feel, was released in 1998 on Verity Records. This CD featured the radio friendly, "Breaking of Day" and earned her the Stellar Award for Best New Artist in 2000.

Her second CD, By His Grace, was released in 2002 on AIR Records, and featured her popular rendition of the praise and worship anthem, "I Just Want to Praise You." This CD, as well, received a Gospel Music Workshop of America Gospel Excellence Award and two Stellar Award nominations. She was also nominated for a Dove Award for her participation in a remake of the Donnie McClurkin classic, "Stand," featuring Marvin Sapp, Daryl Coley, and Helen Baylor.

Maurette's third CD, entitled The Dream was released on AIR/Malaco Records in March 2007, and features the praise and worship anthem, "One God", as well as the classic "It Ain't Over (Until God Says it's Over)". She was awarded the 2008 Stellar Award for Praise and Worship CD of the Year and her daughter Jada received the 2008 Stellar Award for Children's Performance of the Year.

Maurette's videos, including the video for "It Ain't Over", can be seen on GMC, the WORD Network, BET and Centric and other various gospel programs.

Currently, she is preparing for the release of her fourth solo project, entitled The Sound of Victory, on AIR/Malaco, which was recorded live in Norfolk, Virginia, and is set to be released November 8, 2011. The first single is entitled "I Hear the Sound of Victory" is currently available on ITunes. She is excited about this next phase in her music ministry and is looking forward to what God has for her.

She happily maintains her status as a member of Richard Smallwood's choir, Vision.

This singer/songwriter/producer/musician/wife and mom knows that with God, nothing is impossible and her life and music are a testimony to that fact.

ISAIAH D. THOMAS
Minister Isaiah D. Thomas

Noted veteran producer, songwriter, vocalist, and Minister of the Gospel, Isaiah D. Thomas began to embark upon what is now a successful career in the ministry of music at the young age of 10 years old.

The songs penned by Minister Thomas are remarkable, musically structured, scripturally-based, breath-taking, soul-stirring, and inspiring. His music is easily identifiable with the present day and age challenges and obstacles of life.

With over 20 years of experience, Minister Thomas has made quite a mark and earned a reputable reputation as a songwriter, producer, and vocalist in the gospel industry. Many doors have opened for Thomas to work with artists such as Grammy Award Winner, Gladys Knight; Stellar Award Winners, Dottie Peoples, The Williams Brothers, and Byron Cage; Stellar Award Nominees, Bishop Michael V. Kelsey, Sr. and The New Samaritan Mass Choir as well as television appearances on BET's Bobby Jones Gospel, Superfest, The Word Network, and TBN.

In January 2007, as a distinguished songwriter, Thomas captured the hearts of the gospel industry and proudly accepted his first Stellar Award for "Song of the Year", "I Will Bless The Lord" recorded by Byron Cage.

In January 2008, Isaiah D. Thomas and his group, Elements of Praise, won the Stellar Award for "Contemporary Choir of the Year".

In April of 2008, Thomas shared the stage with the likes of Aaron Shust and Jars of Clay as he received the prestigious BMI Christian Award for the most played gospel song ("I Will Bless The Lord") in 2007.

Thomas' Stellar Award win and the BMI Christian Award win was a true blessing after a year of trials and tribulations. He gives God credit for saving him from a near-fatal car accident that he was miraculously able to walk away from with minor injuries.

Minister Thomas has recently been appointed the National Minister of Music for the Progressive National Baptist Association and continues to serve as the Minister of Worship for The New Macedonia Baptist Church in Washington, DC, where the Senior Pastor is Patrick J. Walker, Sr.

Isaiah is also married to Shalaundia M. Thomas and through this union they have three handsome young men, Isaiah, Gabriel, and Michael.
