May is Mental Health Month
Did you know:
- 1 in 4 adults suffer from mental illness
- Depression is the most prevalent mental illness
- The treatment of depression is effective 60 to 80% of the time
- 90% of those who die by suicide suffer from a mental disorder
Many activities are being held during the month of May to give the community opportunities to participate in mental health awareness. All events are free, sponsored by mental health providers and aim to improve the quality of life for all people affected by mental health conditions.
