Support 2-1-1

Welcome to United Way of Southwestern Indiana 2-1-1 eNewsletter! The purpose of this newsletter is to make you, our social services partners, aware of 2-1-1 activities, new and/or changes to programs in our database, and to show you what we are doing. The 2-1-1 eNews will be released the last week of the month.

We encourage your feedback! Let us know how we can help you, if you need 2-1-1 supplies, or if you would like someone to speak about 2-1-1.

Most of us have heard the old adage 'you don't have to reinvent the wheel'. Here at United Way 2-1-1, we have a plethora of marketing and resource materials to assist agencies in serving their clients, most of which are of no cost to the agency. These materials include:

  • 2-1-1 Business Cards
  • 2-1-1 Posters
  • Bank On Evansville Cards
  • Kits for enrolling children not yet in kindergarten in Napoleon Peacock's Adventure Club, a free book club
  • Quick Resource Brochures
    • Vanderburgh County
    • Spencer County
    • Gibson County
  • Resource Guides
    • Community Resource Guide (cost $15)
    • Gibson County
    • Posey County
    • Spencer County
  • Services for the Unemployed
  • Volunteer Opportunities Guide
  • VITA Posters

Both an online 2-1-1 database and a volunteer database are available on the United Way of Southwestern Indiana website: www.unitedwayswi.org. Choose 'Programs and Services' along the top, then choose 2-1-1 Call Center from the drop down menu. You will find there the databases and many of the resources listed above.

Each Sunday the You Can Help column appears in the Evansville Courier and Press.  Any 501(c)3 agency can submit items for the column in three areas: items for agencies, items for clients and volunteer opportunities. Submissions are rotated until we are notified that they are no longer needed. Contact Cathy Perrin at 421-2800, dialing 2-1-1 or cperrin@unitedwayswi.org.

To request any of the materials and resources listed, simply dial 2-1-1 or call (812) 421-2800 and speak to one of our Community Resource Specialists.
