Young Leaders United
happeningsUnited Way of Southwestern Indiana
Greetings!
For those of you who attended the Lunch with Linda White event, thank you!  We had a great turn-out and interesting conversations! Go to our Facebook page to check out pictures from the event.
One of our focal points this year is volunteerism and how we connect that experience with our partner agencies. Throughout the year, we will be taking a closer look at our partner agencies in a new section of our e-newsletter called "Agency Spotlight".
We have many events planned for you that revolve around community involvement. One event we are working on is a big volunteer project for Day of Caring in September. So don't forget to save the date, September 10th! We hope you are as excited as we are! See you soon!

Sincerely,
Michelle Ricketts

Serving Tri-State communities since its charter in 1917, the American Red Cross of Southwestern Indiana helps us prepare for, prevent and respond to disasters and emergencies.

In the past year, we have touched our community over 90,000 times - helping to provide safe and adequate blood supplies for 19 area hospitals; responding to disasters and emergencies, large and small, with food, clothing, shelter and mental health services as needed. We have also trained over 12,000 people this past year in lifesaving CPR and First Aid skills and through their Services to Armed Forces they bridge the gap between members of our military and their families in times of crisis and emergency.

Being a volunteer led organization with 106 volunteers for every staff member, we work hard to ensure our volunteers have the resources they need to do the work they love in our community and around the world. Volunteers are offered free training to respond to disasters, process emergency messages during times of crisis for local military families and help instruct others to save lives in CPR & First Aid.

The American Red Cross of Southwestern Indiana could not be there for the community in their hour of need without the support of our community and the work of our volunteers. Together, we are changing lives in Southwestern Indiana one person at a time.
