Young Leaders United
happeningsUnited Way of Southwestern Indiana
Greetings!
Hello from United Way!
You may have heard that this was a challenging year for United Way, but Young Leaders United members provided a happy success in our campaign.  Check out the results below.  We feel honored to have you involved in this new program - thank you!

Up next is an interactive event to spark awareness on issues facing low income individuals.  We are pleased with all of the community leaders that jumped at the chance to participate - see details below.  We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,
Michelle Ricketts

Volunteer Action Center (VAC) Expansion in the Works
:  Those of you who participated in the board of directors training know that United Way is creating a "Board Bank" to connect volunteers with leadership positions at nonprofits later this year.  As we began, we started brainstorming other ways to make VAC a better resource.  What do you think? Any ideas on what volunteer resources would benefit you, your friends and colleagues?  Send your ideas to smcguyer@unitedwayswi.org.

VAC currently plans Day of Caring, Youth Week of Caring and Volunteer of the Year Awards, in addition to connecting volunteers through our 2-1-1 Call Center and weekly You Can Help column in the Courier.
