Primaterra Chardonnay

100% Chardonnay from the Delle Venizia area of Italy.  This little Chardonnay gives you a lot of bang for the buck.  A clean pure chardonnay, with apples and pear aromas, a hint of sweetness and a very clean finish.

Borthwick Sauvignon Blanc

The 2004 Sauvignon follows on from the legacy of the previous 4 gold medal wines. Aromas of gooseberry, guava and pineapple, supported by intense flavors of tropical fruit resulting in a wine with great balance, structure and finesse

Stephen Vincent Crimson

As its name implies, our Crimson has a deep, dark red color. Crimson is produced from a blend of 75% Syrah and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Sonoma and Central Coast growing regions of California. Crimson is a very complex wine made in the Rhone style. This very rich wine has beautiful ripe plum and blackberry flavor, accented with hints of toasty French oak, and cassis.  Deep dark crimson color, with lots of black fruit in the nose. Soft tannins round out rich flavors of licorice, blackberries and cinnamon.   Food suggestions: Beef, lamb, duck, turkey, and pasta.

Li Veli Passamante

Li Veli, an estate in the Salento,  makes a great wine  from Negroamaro, an inky dark (Negroamaro means dark-dark in dialect) indigenous red grape varietal.  It's deep ruby and has a rich bouquet with red berry fruit and some spice supported by underbrush, bright acidity.  On the palate it's just as lively, with rich bright cherry fruit supported by brisk brambly acidity and by brambly tannins that flow into a long clean bitter finish. Pleasing in a lively, joyous key, and will drink quite well with succulent grilled or roasted meats. You could well want a second bottle handy.

Cakebread Chardonnay

Our 2006 Napa Valley Chardonnay displays lovely ripe pear and sweet citrus aromas lifted by fragrant white flower and subtle toasty oak scents. On the palate, a sleek entry expands into a creamy, concentrated mid-palate with rich lemon zest, melon, white peach and vanilla flavors segueing seamlessly into a refreshingly flinty, mineral-tinged finish. Revealing all the intensity, depth and structure typical of a long, cool vintage, this classic Napa Valley Chardonnay will age gracefully in the bottle for another 3 to 5 years.

Zolo Torrontes
Torrontes is quite unique in its flavor and aromatic profile and this has to be one of the more interesting ones we have tried in some time, particularly in light of its attractive price point. Being a 2007 gives it a heads up for its freshness and this comes at you in waves. The nose is exotic with a combination of citric zest, rose water, musk and orange, citrus blossom whiffs. This has excellent mid palate weight that showcases a rich texture with countering acidity, offering a clean crisp focus to the orange and rose water nuances that accentuate the pear fruit. For the money this is a showy wine that will surprise.

Domaine de Bres Caseneuve
Dark plum, black licorice and bubblegum. Rough but balanced, with a bit of sourness that somehow seems oak-derived. This has a great future.

The Franc
Predominantly Cabernet Franc with a touch of Merlot for softening.  Black fruit, clove, allspice and vanilla in the nose. Youthful and intense with white pepper, red cherry and soft mineral overtones that carry through the mouth into a long finish. This full-bodied wine has long, ripe tannins with good structure and is excellently balanced. It should age well for the next 10-12 years.
