It's been a few weeks since we've visited your email box! The shop is hoppin'....there are new lines of fabric arriving every day, new books to peruse, and fun classes going on! We hope you're scheduling some "me" time to sew and create!

Wow....you like the classes we're offering! Many classes are full or close to being full. If there's a class you're thinking of taking it would be a good idea to stop by or call right away to secure your spot! The Buggy Barn Block of the Month is full with a waiting list so we've decided to add another class...this class will meet in the afternoon on the last Wednesday of the month from 2:30-5pm. If you're already signed up for the evening class and would like to move to the afternoon session it's no problem! Paula & Jody are thrilled that so many of you are excited about this new BOM!

Mystery Step of the Month

Question Mark Friday September 23 (6:30pm) will be our 6th Mystery Step of the Month Reveal! Please join us for this fun event! You will be amazed at how different each quilt will look even though everyone has used the same pattern. Everyone has agreed that a mystery is the best way to do what looks like a complicated quilt!

Our seventh Mystery Step of the Month will also begin on September 23. Jody has selected a pattern that you are sure to enjoy....no triangles this time! The first clue will be distributed at the party with each additional step of this 6 step pattern is available on the first of each month! In March 2012 we'll hold our next Mystery Quilt "reveal" party where you can bring your completed mystery quilt top so that everyone can "ooooh" and "awwww" over it. If you did not participate in this Mystery but you want to see what it's all about, please sign up and come to our reveal party! (it's free!) You will also have the opportunity to sign up for the next Mystery Quilt Step of the Month and receive special discounts!

Happy Hour

August Happy Hour Quilt To the left is the bright and cheery quilt Sarah created using the fat quarter collection available for August's Happy Hour and Terry Atkinson's pattern, Texas Two Step. There are only a couple of fat quarter packs available but plenty of patterns in the shop so that you can create your own cheerful quilt!

September's Happy Hour will feature this gorgeous fall collection of 40 2-1/2" strips. Stop by the shop or call to reserve your strip set! If you can't make it to Happy Hour we're happy to hold your fabric and pattern for you. Our next Happy Hour is Friday, September 30 6:30-8pm.

Cotton Club Block of the Month

We are so excited to announce that the Granary will be offering the new Cotton Club Blocks of the Month program featuring patterns and fabrics designed by Bonnie Blue Quilts! The fabric collection was created around an antique border print from the mid 1800's, along with antique coordinates in varying shades of red and brown. The 78" x 85" quilt contains 45 sampler style 5" blocks set in vertical pieced columns. We call this a "blocks" of the month program because you will receive patterns for 4 or 5 blocks each month. The blocks are designed and grouped together utilizing a specific technique or similarity in block design, progressing from the easiest to the more challenging techniques.

The Cotton Club program will begin in September and run through August 2012. Kits run $24.95 plus tax per month; shipping is available for an additional cost. Call the shop today or come by for more details and to see our completed shop sample made by the Granary's Kris Clarkson! It's beautiful! This quilt is recommended for intermediate to advanced quilters.

Angela's BOM

Angela is continuing with the next installment of her Block of the Month program. Her adorable sample is pictured on the left.....it's even cuter in person! There's still time to sign up for this program. The Spring quilt was the first of the wall quilts and was completed in June. Each season's wall quilt features a quaint house and tree which change with each season; other blocks of seasonal motifs are unique to each wall quilt. You will learn various techniques in machine piecing and fusible machine appliqué-or hand appliqué if you prefer. Members will receive a kit for that month's section of the 33" x 45" project. If monthly meetings don't work for you, you can pick up your kits at the shop or they can be mailed. Membership fee is $25 per month and is offered by automatic credit card billing only. The fee includes your monthly class, quilt pattern and fabric for each of the blocks. Improve your hand or machine appliqué skills with an expert!
