The new class schedule is almost complete and ready for the website. We're aiming to have it available on our site by Monday, August 15. Listed below in "Upcoming Classes" are a few classes offered early in September. Although we're not ready for signups yet, we wanted you to be able to plan for them! August 15 will be the day to call or stop by the shop to sign up!

We had a wonderful time with Jodi Barrows on July 27 at our Square in a Square Event. In addition to being an accomplished and innovative quilter, Jodi is a very entertaining story teller! If you missed the event you can still see her quilts by clicking on the image below which will take you to a slideshow. We have her books and rulers in stock and we will be offering a class in the fall using the SNS techniques.

Cotton Club Block of the Month

We are so excited to announce that the Granary will be offering the new Cotton Club Blocks of the Month program featuring patterns and fabrics designed by Bonnie Blue Quilts! The fabric collection was created around an antique border print from the mid 1800's, along with antique coordinates in varying shades or red and brown. The 78" x 85" quilt contains 45 sampler style 5" blocks set in vertical pieced columns. We call this a "blocks" of the month program because you will receive patterns for 4 or 5 blocks each month-the blocks are designed and grouped together utilizing a specific technique or similarity in block design, progressing from the easiest to the more challenging techniques. You will also receive monthly bonus projects also designed by Bonnie Blue.

The Cotton Club program will begin in September and run through August 2012. Kits run $24.95 plus tax per month; shipping is available for an additional cost. Call the shop today or come by for more details and to see our completed shop sample made by the Granary's Kris Clarkson! It's beautiful! The first 12 participants will receive a special Cotton Club zippered canvas tote bag! This quilt is recommended for intermediate to advanced quilters.

Happy Hour

July 2011 Happy Hour Quilt To the left is the beautiful, serene quilt Mary Kay created using the July's layer cake collection and Cozy Quilt's pattern "Spice Cake". There are still plenty of patterns in the shop so that you can create your own masterpiece!

August's Happy Hour will feature this fun collection of 12 fat quarters! Stop by the shop or call to reserve your collection! If you can't make it to Happy Hour we're happy to hold your fabric and pattern for you. Our next Happy Hour is Friday, August 26 6:30-8pm.

Angela's BOM

Angela is continuing with the next installment of her Block of the Month program. Her adorable sample is pictured on the left.....it's even cuter in person! There's still time to sign up for this program. The Spring quilt was the first of the wall quilts and was completed in June. Each season's wall quilt features a quaint house and tree which change with each season; other blocks of seasonal motifs are unique to each wall quilt. You will learn various techniques in machine piecing and fusible machine appliqué-or hand appliqué if you prefer. Let's do something different and make a seasonal wall hanging that you will get to use every time the seasons change. Members will receive a kit for that month's section of the 33" x 45" project. If monthly meetings don't work for you, you can pick up your kits at the shop or they can be mailed. Membership fee is $25 per month and is offered by automatic credit card billing only. The fee includes your monthly class, quilt pattern and fabric for each of the blocks. Improve your hand or machine appliqué skills with an expert!
