Wow....there's so much going on in the shop it's hard to know where to start!  We hope you stick with this email all the way to the end so that you don't miss something!

SaleCan you believe the Early Bird Sale is almost upon us!  Our annual Early Bird Sale will be held on Saturday, November 20th. The earlier you shop, the more you save! Arrive between 6-7am, and you'll receive 30% off your entire purchase, 7-9am receive 25% off and 9am-12pm receive 20% off. Sale limited to stock on hand. Half-yard minimum cut required on fabric cut from bolts. All items in our "Hold" basket will be returned to inventory on Friday afternoon prior to the Early Bird Sale. Sale excludes all quilt kits.

The week after the Early Bird Sale our Sample Sale starts!  Once a year, The Granary's staff offers some of their meticulously handmade samples for sale just in time for the Holidays. The Sample Sale will begin Friday November 26 at 10am, and will continue through the end of the year. The selection will change weekly as new samples become available. No credit cards will be accepted for the purchase of samples; cash is preferred.

As mentioned in our last newsletter, a great time was had by all at the most recent Granary Getaway.  The theme this time was "quick and easy holiday gifts".  Patterns for the projects are available in the shop - some of the patterns are free with the purchase of fabric!  Click on the image for a slideshow!Granary Getaway 5

Holiday Community Service Project

StockingsOur Holiday Community Service Project has begun.  Once again this year we will be supporting Sunnyvale Community Services. For more than a dozen years, SCS has provided a "Christmas Store" where its clients are afforded the dignity of selecting a two-week supply of food, new gifts for infants through teens, and a household gift (towels, blankets, basic kitchen items). Last year, over 1,100 families were served! Imagine the quantities involved for gifts and a two-week supply of groceries for that many families!

We have started our SCS collection a little late this year so to make it easier for you to donate we're suggesting the donation of gift cards.  Especially helpful are $10-$20 gift cards to Target, Walmart, or any grocery store.  Most grocery stores have a "Gift Card Mall" to make your shopping easier.  If you would prefer to donate the actual gift, please visit the SCS website for a list of their most needed items.  We will accept donations through Tuesday November 30.

All you have to do is bring your items to the Granary by November 30 and we'll take care of the delivery to SCS!  When you bring your donations to the Granary, you will receive a raffle ticket for each item you donate. In January, we will raffle a gift basket including a Granary gift certificate and other great quilting supplies, including books, patterns, fabric, notions and more!
McCall's Quilt Designer Contest

Mary Kay's McCall's Round 2 QuiltIt's that time again.  Mary Kay needs your votes for Round 2 of the McCall's Quilt Design Star Challenge.  You can vote every day through Monday, November 29 at 1am.  This is the second of three challenges.  The winner of the final challenge wins a Bernina 440 and will be featured in an article in a McCall's Quilting magazine.

Susan's Block of the Month

A Bloomin DozenIt's not too late to sign up for Susan's new Block of the Month!  We're using the pattern "A Bloomin' Dozen" by Bloomin' Minds which features thirteen 12" blocks to be used for small quilts or pillows. Here's how it works-you purchase your pattern which contains all 13 blocks, and on the first of each month we'll reveal our shop sample and have a kit with just enough fabric for that month's block ready for you to pick up (kit fee: $9.95/month). The program began October 1,  but you can sign up any time before January 1 in order to receive the prior months' kits. If you keep up with the program and make just one simple, small block each month, you will have 13 adorable, themed blocks completed. Your blocks can hang as individual small wall quilts, you could make cute little seasonal pillows or you could assemble all the blocks together with sashing and borders for a "Happy Anytime" wall quilt! Stop by or call today to sign up!
