BPA Worldwide President Glenn Hansen Talks About Rule Changes

A Round of Applause for Our New Mascot, Gus

Gus - Dirxion's New MascotHey, Gus here. As you might have heard by now, I am the new official mascot for Dirxion. For the time being, I reside on the Dirxion blog, but you’ll find me popping up here and there to tell you about cool stuff going on at Dirxion.

Speaking of cool stuff, I just caught wind of something really exciting happening here at Dirxion this week – social networking. Yep, that’s right. Social networking is now available in the latest version of EdgeClix. I’m not quite sure if I’m supposed to tell the whole world yet, but I’m just way too excited not to “share.”

The new share tool will replace the email button that currently resides in the top navigation bar of our product. When you mouse over the button, the tool tip will say “Share” and the following dialogue box will pop up:

EdgeClix Directory

The share tool not only allows users to share the publication by email but also via a number of different social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, digg, etc. Being the social butterfly that I am, I’m pretty ecstatic to be that much more connected with the other Pygmy Jerboas out there.

EdgeClix: Increasing Advertiser Value for Yellow and White Page Directories

EdgeClix is Dirxion’s impressive new digital publishing platform that takes digital publications to the next level. “It positions the publisher to support the print product while driving new revenue through a digital product, says Steve Mitchener, President & CEO of Dirxion. “The sky is the limit for features to this new platform. Dirxion has met the challenges of many publishers and we expect many more in the future."

For directory publishers, the most compelling upgrade to EdgeClix is the expanded advertising reach. EdgeClix allows publishers to add new advertisers at anytime throughout the year, without having to print new directories. Never before has technology provided a better way to both support the printed directory and provide new revenue streams for yellow page publishers.

The new EdgeClix platform also supports an expanded Search Engine Optimization package that will provide more opportunities to show up in all major search engine results. We are already starting to see results after just a short time with the new platform.

Haven’t seen the EdgeClix platform in action? We strongly encourage you to check it out. You can also read the press release for more information. If you’re interested in converting to EdgeClix, please contact your Dirxion Sales Representative or call 888.391.0202.

PCC Natural Markets Shares Their Digital Story

PCC Natural Markets recently teamed up with Dirxion to take our existing printed weekly specials advertisement and publish it online. Dirxion’s software has provided us with an easy-to-browse format, replicating the printed version of this publication with enhanced, interactive features online.

The online ad features a navigation bar where users can explore different views, print and email the specials to a friend or family member. In addition to the navigation bar, the publication features a table of contents with a product search function, again making it easy for users to browse and locate items of interest. Shoppers can stay in touch with our weekly specials via an RSS feed, alerting them of a new ad. Also, for users without the Adobe Flash player, there is an HTML/text based version of the ad.

However, the most impressive aspect of this online publication is its integration with our shopping list feature. Dirxion’s software afforded our customers the opportunity to add products on special from the ad directly to their online shopping list. Prior to this integration, shoppers could build lists from several product databases or simply input their desired items in a text field. With this enhanced functionality, shoppers can now browse the products from our weekly specials and add items as they please. The shopping lists are simple to save, print and email for use in our stores.

Dirxion made this idea of shopping list integration with our online ads a reality. They developed an extraction tool that takes the information from the printed advertisement and exports it into a tab delineated format. This allows PCC’s staff to integrate the ad with our shopping list database.

Try it out for yourself; explore our online weekly specials and shopping list by visiting www.pccnaturalmarkets.com/specials.

New plans and features advance the Dirxion kiosk program to the next level

Not only can yellow and white page information be found using the Dirxion kiosk, but that info can now be sent to any cell phone via text messaging. Once the user locates the searched listing, a simple touch of the number will populate a message box, in which the user is prompted to enter their phone number. Within a couple of seconds, the searched listing appears in the inbox of your cell phone.

The device, which is appropriately named “TOGI” meaning Touch and Go Information, will soon be updated with a weather feature to access nationwide weather and possibly even more content. The objective is to make the units more attractive for additional venues other than the airports where the kiosks are currently located.
