Quest for the Silver Award

Kelly, a Girl Scout Cadette from Lower Makefield, was recently featured in the news for the work she's been doing for her Silver Award. Over the summer she's been volunteering at the Silver Lake Nature Center in Bristol Township to implement her project directed at sustaining a threatened species of monarch butterflies. Take the Lead

A Take the Lead honoree is a woman of exceptional impact. She goes above and beyond, strives for greatness, and achieves amazing goals. She is a confident and courageous leader, she gives back to the community and cares about others. Most importantly, she serves as a role model for Girl Scouts.

We invite you to nominate a woman who will be counted amongst our notable past honorees: The Honorable Elizabeth Ehrlich, Charisse Lillie, Sally Gammon, Ellen Horan, Sister Mary Scullion, Sue Kubik, Linny Fowler, Leslie Ann Miller and Lynn Yeakel, just to name a few. To view last year's honorees click here.

Calling all Girl Leaders! Girl Scouts are encouraged to participate as an emcee*, presenter*, host, chorus, or color guard. Apply online!

Outdoor Program Updates

GSEP's plans for outdoor programming are focused around creating enriching opportunities for girls at camp. In an effort to keep the progress of camp planning transparent, we held two town hall meetings open to membership on August 21, 2012 and August 23, 2012. At these meetings the GSEP Property Committee and property consultants reviewed the master plan (that is pending board approval) for Camps Wood Haven, Laughing Waters, Mosey Wood and Shelly Ridge as well as the steps taken toward plan implementation.  Visit to view the presentation and frequently asked questions.

Product Program Updates

Price Increase: Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania will be increasing the price of GS Cookies this season from $3.50 to $4.00.

The decision to raise the price is necessary and a positive move for our Council. Not only will the increase help cover costs, but it will also give girls the opportunity to sharpen their business skills by understanding how costs effect the price of goods.

Thank you for all you do to for the Girl Scouts in Eastern Pennsylvania. Together we are building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
