Greetings!
It certainly is an exciting time to be alive! Change is happening at the speed of light and more and more of us are transforming and awakening.
With that being said, there is also an overabundance of information out there for the spiritual seeker. There are books and blogs (and newsletters!) to read, workshops to attend and podcasts to listen to.
It can be overwhelming for sure which is why we are introducing Verge Integral Practices as a gateway to exploring different wholistic practices. Through Verge Integral Practices we will introduce you to progressive teachers and programs that we believe will support you in your growth.
Some of these programs will be on-site at Verge Yoga, some will be off-site as with Andrew Cohen this month (see below). Many of our offerings will be virtual and even free!
We look forward to taking The Next Step with you all. If you have a favorite practice or teacher that you would like to recommend to the Verge Integral Practices community, please email me.

| Student Spotlight: Leslie Hughes | |
Leslie Hughes. | I came to yoga a total skeptic. Having been an athlete my entire ife and a lover of almost any physical activity, I didn't believe yoga had anything to offer me. I came to my first stationary class last June not knowing what to expect or that the studio would be heated. In a nutshell, after class, I was no longer a skeptic; I was hooked! I began practicing twice a week and soon came to discover yoga was one fo the hardest workouts I'd ever done in my life.
Ironically, as much as I still love the physical challenge and what yoga continues to do for my body, it is the mental and spiritual connection I've found on my mat that has me now practicing four times a week. Yoga is the first exercise discipline I've ever done that combines all three elements of my being - body, mind and spirit - it is beautiful and powerful. It is through this combination that I've met a woman on my mat that truly amazes me - she is totally focused, fully present, disciplined, strong, patient, passionate and prayerfully still. She is the woman I want to be 24/7. A lofty goal for sure, but it is my hope as I continue to practice this wonderful gift called yoga, that I will see more and more of her in my daily life.
At one of my first stationary classes the teacher ended practice with these words - live honestly, work hard, love even when it's difficult and have passion. Yoga, my newest passion, helps me do all of these! |

Kristy Urgo. | I get asked a lot why I "do" yoga.
When I first got into yoga it was mainly for the physical aspect. To bring something different into my workout routine. This still holds true, but I have also come to love yoga for an entirely different reason, for my mental workout. Life can be so crazy at times. When I step into that warm room and take in the quietness, the peace; it's an indescribable feeling. One can not fully understand it until experiencing it. Sometimes when I am practicing I feel as if I am the only one in the room. I get a feeling of inner strength and confidence; I know I can take on any challenge.
When my physical yoga practice has ended, the 'true' yoga practice begins. I leave the studio and work on keeping that mind set throughout the day and week. That is where it really matters. I take that feeling of being present and centered, absorb it into my daily life and spread this peace to others. This is not an easy thing to do, so I keep coming back to my mat. When I feel that sense of power and strength from my practice, there is nothing that can bring me down.
Life is good. Practice yoga.
