Ah Yes....to be young and carefree again
Fall is Upon Us.....and Now it's Pumpkin Time!
Greetings!

What a busy Summer's end and blast off into October!

I have been pretty lax in getting these newsletters out but that's all going to change.  We are going to be doing some fun stuff in the next few weeks and I'm going to tell you all about it and also give you some recipes for the festive up coming season.

NOW....Let's see; the last week of September we had two large parties and almost 2000 desserts to make.  Our first was a signature dessert for the Space Needle and another one of a kind dessert for the Valley Women's Medical Association at the new ShoWare Center in Kent in addition to all our other accounts.  It was then time to start on my cousin Jinna's wedding cake. 

Alisa and Jinna sisters and my cousinsHere's a sweet picture of both my cousins, Alisa and Jinna.  Jinna worked at the bakery last year at this time and put on our "Holiday Open" house.  She is now married to her sweetheart Steve Lambert.  They have been together for many years since they were quite young.  It's so sweet to see the two of them finally a married couple.  It was a beautiful wedding and then they were off to Maui for their honeymoon. 
 
Her wedding cake was quite the spectacular creation.  The Cake!!!An 18" square bottom of strawberry shortcake, whole strawberries, strawberry silk mousse all layered with 3 layers of our sour cream pound cake.  The next layer was our chocolate silk eternity followed by 2 layers of our famous carrot cake.  Here are a few pictures of the cake, the family and the new Mr. & Mrs. Lambert.  We're all very happy to have Steve a part of our family.

Pumpkin Pecan Grand Marnier
Pictured above is our Pumpkin Pecan Grand Marnier Silk and just one of the desserts that will be featured at our5th annual Holiday Open House.  We hope you can join us for an evening of great food, fun, entertainment, and lots of door prizes this year!  We will be drawing for our 3 grand pize door prizes at 7:30 PM on the 19th.  YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!

Dots Specialty Food company is new this year and one of the "BEST" Baklava's I have EVER tasted.  They are being sold at several Wholefoods stores in addition to to an array of other upscale grocery stores and cafe's. Come by on the 19th and try some....You're going to LOVE THEM! This is going to be one of the "MANY" door prizes being raffled!

Keith Jackson the owner of Yukon Jackson and my dear friend will once again be here with his famously delicious Turtle's and coffee toffee which by the way is new and incredible.    Come by on the 19th to try them! They will also be one of the door prizes to be raffled off.

Once again this year Cindi Hansen owner of Golmine Designwill be here with here magnificent pieces.  She will raffle one of her incredible pieces for a door prizes. Last year one of our good customers was the winner of a pair of beautiful pearl earings. What will this year's prize be...hmmm
We can't wait to see all of you here at the bakery on the 19th.  There will be great food; soup by Soopity, coffee by Middlefork, of course Spanikopita by Mike Brancati, Stuffed Baked Brie by Phyllis, Beverages, and several door prizes.

The 1st raffle of door prize's will be at 5:30 PM another at 6:30 PM and the final door prizes will be between 7:30 and 8 PM.  For those of you planning on joining us at the bakery......Remember.....you MUST be present to win!

For our customers who can not be with us on the 19th we will be having an online drawing for all of you.  Stay tuned to find out what you might be able to win at each hour.  I will be sending out another email on Tuesday the 9th with the online door prizes listed.
