STANDUP ACT UPDATE
April 23, 2010

STANDUP Act to be introduced in Senate

The Safe Teen And Novice Driver Uniform Protection (STANDUP) Act will be introduced next week in the U.S. Senate by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).

Additional co-sponsors are needed now.  Please call your Senators and urge them to co-sponsor the STANDUP Act.  Contact information for all members of the Senate can be found on the Senate home page, in the upper right hand corner.

The soon-to-be-introduced Senate bill is a companion bill to H.R. 1895, which was introduced in the House of Representatives last year by Reps. Tim Bishop (D-NY), Michael Castle (R-DE), and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD).

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. (Want up-to-the-minute news on the STANDUP Act? Follow @Saferoads4teenson Twitter.)
