Stronger GDL bill moves forward in Alabama

The Judiciary Committee in the Alabama Senate this week passed HB 65, a bill that would greatly strengthen the Alabama Graduated Driver Licensing laws:

*  prohibits nighttime driving from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekends)

*  sets a limit of one non-related passenger younger than age 21

*  prohibits use of hand-held  communication devices, including cell phones

The bill now moves to the full Senate.
