Back to School Tips and Tricks
 As "Back to School" time is upon us, here are a few tips that will make the transition a little bit smoother.
- Get the children to bed at a decent hour so that they will be prepared when the alarm clock rings bright and early for school.
- Create a To-Do list to keep yourself organized.
- If you received a school supply list, purchase those items as soon as possible in order to avoid long lines in the stores.
- Purchase children's school clothing and make alterations right away to avoid last minute stress.
- Have water bottles and healthy snacks on hand for a healthy lunch.
- Take the child on a test run if he or she is utilizing school bus transportation. Take him or her to the designated pick-up and drop-off locations. Introduce the child to a buddy if possible.
- Seal each morning with a kiss and an "I Love You" for a bright, cheery day!

Ruth Teague joined Staten Island Academy in July of 2011 as Director of Admissions. In her new position, Ruth was drawn to its student-centered academic curriculum, vision for diversity/global citizenship and the range/strength of the extra-curricular activities. With her husband, Gary she also plans to explore the wonders of Staten Island from shore to shore and looks forward to getting involved in the SI Community! Welcome to the Chamber!
