Universal Temple of the Arts (UTA) is celebrating its 45th year of providing FREE cultural, educational and artistic programs to the Staten Island community, with a special focus on targeting under-served youth populations.     

 

Though the 45th anniversary of the agency marks one of its most significant milestones, UTA is facing its biggest challenge - maintaining its home base at 425 Jersey Street, in the New Brighton community, where it has resided for the last 22 years.

How to Beat the Heat

  • Try to stay out of the sun
  • Wear sunscreen and lightweight, light-colored clothing
  • Avoid outdoor exercise
  • Use an air conditioner or keep rooms well ventilated with open windows and fans
  • Drink plenty of fluids- especially water
  • NYC has opened its cooling centers during heat wave.  You can locate a center online or by calling 311.
