Green Greetings

Parkway Partners was awarded the Seal of Excellence from the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations in October 2008. To earn the designation, Parkway Partners underwent a rigorous review of LANO's 57 standards that emphasize best practices in nonprofit management. Parkway Partners works closely with the City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways but does not receive any funding from the city. We rely on contributions from the private sector to enable our many programs. All contributions are tax-exempt.

Time to sign up for spraying of Buck Moth Caterpillars
    caterpillarvicious

Beware! Buck Moths are Flying and that means the voracious leaf-eating caterpillars, pictured above, will again invade live oaks at their most vulnerable moment. The caterpillars feast on tender young leaves the oaks sprout in late March. And they have a very nasty sting.

The best defense against the caterpillars is a good offense. Parkway Partners invites citizens to help us preserve our city's valuable trees on public property by purchasing buck moth spraying, fertilization or termite treatment services at a discounted price.

New Orleans' oaks are still stressed from storm damage, flooding and drought and require extra TLC for at least the next five years, a make or break it period for many stately, historic trees.

Buck moth caterpillar spraying must be done in March, when the larvae hatch.
Pictured here is the adult Buck moth.

Fertilization and termite treatment services are offered year round.

Save Our Trees is offered by Parkway Partners in collaboration with the city of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways.
