Parkway Partners is proudly certified by the
Louisiana Association of Non-profit
Organizations. Parkway Partners works
closely with the City of New Orleans
Department of Parks and Parkways but
does not receive any funding from the city.
We rely on contributions from the private
sector to enable our many programs. All
contributions are tax-exempt.

| Become a Certified Tree Trooper in 3 Days! |

Register today to become involved in restoring
New Orleans' tree canopy. Take part in a
nationally acclaimed local volunteer training
program that educates neighborhood-based
volunteers to properly care for mature and
newly planted trees. Tree Trooper Training is
free and open to the public. Dates are May 18,
19, 20. Participants may come from throughout
the greater New Orleans area, including
Jefferson and St. Bernard Parishes. Register online click

Gates open at 9 am. Begonias, vetiver
and gift plants for sale. At 10 am, Michael
Higson and Freda Holley of The American
Begonia Society will present the topic of
Begonias. Tours of Parkway Partners
Community Gardens leave at 9 am and return
at 11 a.m.

Mr. Joseph Rooney, a very special
Neutral Ground Partner, has been caring for
Peoples at Mendez since 1986. Thank you Mr.
Rooney for 20 years of volunteer service to
our community.

Community Garden Tour |

Come tour a sampling of the Parkway
Partners Gardens and meet our gardeners!
On Saturday, May 9 we will offer our first
Community Garden tour. Jump in the Parkway
Partners truck or caravan over to visit
gardens.
Gardeners will be on hand to discuss their
gardening strategies. Discover why Ms. Eola
has such beautiful greens in Gert Town or
learn creative chicken-driven weeding patterns
with Philip in Central City or learn why the
Latino community works their garden as a
cooperative.
Depart the Parkway Partners Greenhouse at 9
a.m., return for 11 a.m. Four or 5 gardens are
included in the tour led by Parkway Partners'
Garden Guy, Macon Fry. Includes: Bienville
on Clio Street; Mission Utopia on North
Rampart, Latino Growers CoOp on Oretha
Castle Haley and Gathering Tree on
Euphrosine.
