    Anthurium nestled on lava rock, mini-rose in a ceramic pot, blooming citrus trees, for your valentine. Patrick O'Connor will speak at 11 a.m. on the propagation of irises and include a slide show of Louisiana native irises. For more information call (504) 620-2224.


    Maple Area Residents ReLeaf New Orleans

    by planting over 40 trees on Maple Street between Cherokee Street and Carrollton Avenue. Parkway Partners enabled Maple Area Residents (MARI) and businesses to plant trees.     Save Our Trees

    Order tree services today. The Buckmoth Caterpillar infestation will be severe this spring. Buckmoth spraying $65 per tree. Professional fertilization $65 per tree. Termite treatment $130 per tree. Orders for spraying must be received by March 30, 2007. Order forms can be faxed or emailed from our office. Call 504-620-2224.

    This wet weather is ideal for planting trees.     Biggest Tree and Plant Sale March 10, 2007

    Mark your calendars now! This sale ONLY is held on the grounds of the Department of Parks and Parkways off Gentilly Blvd. We will offer an assortment of plants and trees including hanging baskets. More information in the March Newsletter.


    Welcome!

    Macon Fry who once served as our Horticulturist and Community Liaison has returned after several years absence. Jennifer Blooms is our new Greenhouse Manager. She will be on site at the next Second Saturday Program, on Saturday, February 10. Carlyn Perovich is an intern who comes to us from Tulane University where she is majoring in Sociology and Environmental Science.


    Parkway Partners chosen by Whole Foods as February's non-profit of the month

    Go to the register at Whole Foods, Arabella Station, 5600 Magazine St. during the month of February. Tell the cashier that you would like to donate to Parkway Partners "the non-profit of the month." You may donate any amount that you wish as it will all come to us! Your donation will be added to your receipt and appear at the bottom for tax purposes. Thanks for your generous support!

    View the premiere of “Elemen-Tree Education”, the new video production featuring Urban Forester Tom Campbell. Noon, lunch provided.
    Tree School, March 22
    Speakers will address caring for stressed trees and concerns for managing healthy trees during reconstruction. 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., lunch provided.
