Favorite Morning Brews
I used to drink Mango Black tea for breakfast.  Now, I  enjoy the stronger traditional teas.  Try these with milk.

Russian Caravan
russian new
China teas with a hint of maltiness.  Originally imported to Europe over the mountains by camel caravan and acquired a rustic flavor during the 18 month journey.  Great with milk.  Available loose or in teabags.

Want a Black Tea but can't have caffeine?   Try Whittard Decaffeinated

Breakfast Earl Grey
Earl Grey flavor in a strong black tea.  Great with milk.

Decaffeinated Black Tea
Decaffeination removes 99.9% of the caffeine from tea.  This African blend is strong enough to stand up to the process and still give you good flavor.  Best brewed strongly and served with milk.  I usually enjoy one cup every night.

Available loose or in teabags.

Irish Blend
ceylon
A custom blend of Assam and Ceylon.  One of our staff favorites.  Packed in a tin to keep it fresh.

Grange House
lapsang
One of my customers created this blend:  Earl Grey, Assam and Lapsang Souchong.
The smokiness of the Lapsang is tempered by the Earl Grey.

School's out and summer is almost here.
Last Thursday was the last day of school for my high school sophomore. Ten of her friends came over to bake after their last final.  I like to keep a well stocked pantry for baking.  But while they were in the midst of their baking frenzy, they ran out of flour.  My daughter said, "I know where to get some."  She returking arthur flourned minutes later with a 5 lb bag of flour and a big smile.  How wonderful to have such sharing neighbors who can rescue you when you are in a pinch.

My other 7th grader will be out in a couple of days.  At their Sports and Academic Banquet, they asked me to make some instant tea.  I served almost 5 gallons of Instant Pina Colada!  (Did you know that it is best to dissolve this in hot water and then add ice?)  pina cola

Well, summer is just about here.  We are finalizing our plans for summer and hope to return to China to work with orphans.  Before and after, I am thinking of offering some classes in bread making, scone baking, and cupcake creating and maybe some fun sewing for my girls and their friends.  Also, I am trying to set up some venues for tea tastings and hands-on tea making.  Look for an announcement on a sidewalk sale for local customers and a big clearance sale for on-line customers.

I hope you have a relaxing summer.   I will keep in touch over the summer.  Look for some recipes on cooking with tea (I use tea to make my oatmeal.)
Everything stops for tea,

"The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by."
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.  After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper."

1 Kings 19:11-12
Customer Quote

"On my sales receipt, you asked how I first discovered Whittard tea.  Well, being 100% of Norwegian descent, I've had to be a "closet" tea drinker almost.  Two years ago, my son-in-law, who is a professor at Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, spent the spring semester teaching at Notre Dame's London campus, which is only 2 blocks from Trafalgar Square.  Of course, he took my daughter and three children along for a wonderful experience.  My wife and I spent 2 weeks in April visiting them and London/Scotland and all of the Royal palaces and attractions.  They had purchased some Whittard Tea, served it to us, and I couldn't believe the flavors compared to the standard Lipton that I had been drinking back in the US.  So, we purchased several canisters and a bone China teapot at a small shop that specialized in Whittard just a few blocks away.  Of course, we finally ran out and after going back to "floor sweepings" that pass for tea in this country, I decided to google Whittard on the internet and there you were.  Thank you for making it available in the US."  Annie's Tea Time customer from Windom, MN
