| A Hop, Skip and a Jump to England

Greetings!
We flew into London Gatwick the last week in February. I couldn't believe how cold it was! Good thing I had my scarf, gloves and my L.L. Bean super warm jacket/parka with hood. Yes, I needed all of that while we traveled on the Underground, the buses, and the trains. We plan to return to Bath and Woodstock (near Winston Churchill's home) on our next visit. Our favorite Whittard shops were in Covent Garden and Oxford. Some of you know Penelope Carlevato, a writer and speaker. She is the one who introduced me to Whittard tea. She used to do Tea Tours in England. I keep encouraging her to set up another trip to England. I hear she wants to do a literary tour. "Count me in!" Click here for more info on her past trip...Whittard Tea Update (Dreamtime, too)
As of this writing, our latest shipment from Whittard is here in the US but waiting for customs clearance. I know some of you are waiting for your shipment of Dreamtime Instant and Mango Loose Leaf. We promise to ship out your orders within 24 hrs of receipt of that shipment. I will email you when we ship. Sorry, we sold out of these popular teas. The Whittard Shop in Covent Garden is one of my favorite stores because that was where I found packages of Decaffeinated Earl Grey loose leaf. This tea has been reintroduced by Whittard. And with the electric kettles in our hotel room, we could make a grand cup of decaf tea every night. I brought back a few packages in my suitcase and plan to order more for the web. |

Have you ever tried Irish Tea? Here is a recipe that I got from Penelope: Mix 2 parts Assam to 1 part Ceylon. Brew it strong (2-4 spoons for a 6 cup teapot.) Enjoy this with milk. I will mix up a batch and serve this on St. Patrick's Day. If you want to order a package of this custom blended loose tea, click on this link...

Customer Quote
"Thank
you so much for the beautifully wrapped order of tea and cocoa, which arrived
today. After a truly horrific morning, I arrived home early and found the
package waiting; it really lifted my spirits. In fact, I'm enjoying a cup of
Earl Grey at this moment!
You
asked on the packing slip how I first learned of Whittard of Chelsea. Well.
Nearly three years ago my husband took me to London for my 50th birthday--a
dream come true! A friend of mine at work asked me to pick up a specific tea at
Whittard, if I should happen to come across one of the shops in London; I was
happy to do that and bought myself a box of Earl Grey tea bags. No other Earl
Grey has come close!
So, I
thank you for being there and carrying Whittard of Chelsea teas. I believe that
I checked to see whether they were sold anywhere in the states, soon after
returning from London, and came up empty handed, so knowing you're there is so
cheering!
I also ordered a gift from you for my brother-in-law, who
is British and now living in New Jersey; I'll be interested in hearing what he
has to say but I won't know until mid-March...if he can hold out that
long.
Again, thank you for being there and for making my
day! Cheers!" -from an Annie's Tea Time customer
