It's Sunflower Time in Milford!
 A full weekend of events is planned for Milford on September 10-11-12.
On Friday, September 10, the Sunflower Classic Bike Race will take place, presented by Bishop's Bikes and 7 Hills Racing and sponsored by Oakley Cycles.
 Saturday, September 11, visit Main Street for the Sunflower StreetFest 2010 (Noon-6 PM). Celebrate fall with live music, including 2000 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Lovin' Spoonful, street performers, unique vendors, food, wine and beer. Catch Row House Gallery feature artist, Margi Hopkins, painting at the gallery and talk to her about her technique and artworks. (See separate article on Margi below.)
The Sunflower Revolution, Cincinnati's premier event in support of Parkinson's Disease, will find over 1,000 cyclices, runners and walkers taking part in the Sunflower Revolution VII Bike Ride and run/walk on Sunday, September 12.

Meet Local Artist, Margi Hopkins
 Meet local Milford artist, Margi Hopkins. Using a technique that involves meticulously burnishing layers of colored pencil together, Margi creates better-than-photo realism from your own photographs.
In June 2010, one of her portraits was featured on the cover of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
On Saturday, September 11, Margi will be painting within the gallery during the Sunflower StreetFest 2010. Be sure to stop by, visit with her and discuss her techniques!

The Arrival by Bev Doolittle

Bev painted The Arrival in 1977 and sold it through the Carson Gallery in Denver, Colorado, her originals distributor at that time. The work's trail ended there. Long thought lost, the painting was recently rediscovered! In the thirty-year period since its rendering, Bev has produced fifty Fine Art Editions, as well as seven books and folios of collected works, all published by The Greenwich Workshop. Until now, The Arrival remained elusive.
Available in print for the very first time, it is one of the earliest works featuring the rendering style Bev has become renowned for. Storytelling is a hallmark of nearly all of her compositions, and The Arrival is no exception. The limited edition print measures 35"w x 6"h and retails at $345. Recreations Outlet
 We're always excited to talk about neighboring businesses, and this month we're featuring Recreations Outlet, 885 St. Route 28, just up the road here in Milford. While relatively new to Milford, the business owned and operated by Pete DeLois, has been in existence since 1990 and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! The center features 40,000 sq ft of showroom space with 14 playsets, several basketball hoops and three trampolines. The retail business includes playsets, hoops, trampolines, playhouses and toys. Unique, is that they allow customers (kids!) to play...for a minimal fee...on all of the equipment to experience the fun associated with an inside playground. There are free play times from 9-11 AM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And, parties are also a feature.
In addition, Recreations includes a number of 'separate' tenants, each adding to the overall fun experience. AllyBeads Kidz, Kids First Too, KidzArt, and LuLu's. And, coming in a few short months is a restaurant where patrons will enjoy fresh, casual food for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
