Let the games begin!
Did you know? The logo and mascot of the 2010 Winter Olympics is based on the Canadian Inuit inukshuk. The inukshuk is a stone marker that has been used by the Inuit to help guide through the northern Arctic terrain for centuries. The Inuit inukshuk has also become a symbol of leadership, cooperation, friendship, and the human spirit. The contemporary design of an inukshuk by Vancouver based Elena Rivera MacGregor and her team of designers was chosen from 1,600 entires from across Canada by an international panel of nine judges. The mascot will be named Ilanaaq, which means 'friend' in the native Inuit Inuktitut language. Rivera MacGregor claims that her winning design represents the culture, environment, and people of Canada.

| NEW from Greenwich Workshop
The Fullness of Time is vintage June Carey and wine country landscape art at its finest. The long, horizontal format of the painting emphasizes the hand-manicured rows of vines sweeping across the undulating hills. Crisp highlights underscore the brilliance of West Coast sun.
At 60" x 23", the Greenwich Workshop Museum Edition Giclée Canvas captures the you-are-here impact of June's massive original painting, though only a few are being offered. A 41" x 16" Masterwork Giclée Canvas has been created as well, sized in keeping with the sister editions of September Haze and Fall Vineyard. And, for the first time since 2002, Greenwich is making a June Carey painting available in a full-sized paper Giclée edition.

Breaking Back
by Jim Rey

Jim Rey is a very talented man who paints primarily western subject matter. In this image, cowhands move a herd of horses, and a couple of renegades try to make a run for it. Even as the cowboys remain alert for such an event, their plans are sometimes thwarted by some of their determined, wayward charges.
This work is available in various formats, sizes and prices. Please call for details - 513/831-7230. |
