Greetings!
This is our final issue in our series on prototypes.
This issue covers what to do when you need to hire
the professionals. Many inventors need to hire
professionals for help with their prototype, maybe
only for one part, but it is still important to know
how to work with them and how to secure the best price.
We are also pleased to announce that Don's new book,
Business Models Made Easy will be coming out
early next month. Please read the description below
and place your preorder today!
Don't miss our article about the inventor of
Post-It Notes and the Packaging Diva's article about
food packaging.

Making Your Prototype ? Part 3
|
|
How and when to hire professional prototype shops
Prototypes go through many stages and sometimes you
will only realize at the end that you need to
fundamentally change your product and start over.
But this process is very helpful and worthwhile so
you can get the best product out on the market with
the best manufacturing processes giving you the
lowest costs and highest profits.
There are a few things you should know before you
approach professionals that will help you understand
what they are doing and how to save as much money as
possible.

Inventor Story: Art Fry
|
|
The Post-It Note
Art Fry, a 3M employee, was singing in his church
choir when he came up with his world famous
invention: the Post-It Note. Under Fry's direction,
3M developed and manufactured Post-It Notes. We
have not yet discussed an invention that was
developed by or in a corporation, but I think Fry's
story is a good one for all inventors to learn from.

Produce Packaging Crisis
|
|
by JoAnn Hines Packaging Diva
It's sad to say but it takes an event like the ecoli
outbreak resulting from tainted spinach for the
media to take notice of the role packaging has to
play in our society. Now it's coming under some
serious scrutiny. I was surprised to hear network TV
mention the packaging and food security this week
and tie it to the threat of bio-terrorism. Are they
finally waking up to the role packaging has to play
in modern society?
