Vermont Highlights and Recipe |
 |
Worcester
Vermont
Hello from Vermont
UPCOMING RAW HAPS:
· Potluck Thursday, August 16th
from 6-8 pm. Please remember to bring
eating/serving utensils including plates. Thanks
· Matt is now making nut milk/sprouting bags! And
they are nice! Cost is $5.00 plus tax. He's the
man! Call or email if you'd like them.
More good stuff to follow! I'll keep you posted!
· Weekly Raw Food Coaching is available! This is
ideal for those who wish to receive weekly raw
food recipes (a food plan) plus email support. I
have weekly recipes for the newbie raw fooder (or
for anyone who wishes to have a raw food dietary
plan mapped out for them.) You'll receive 3 recipes
plus snacks each day for 7 days. Recipes plus
shopping list are included as well as email support
from me! Cost of weekly food plan + email support
is $40.00/week. Contact me at 223-2111 or
linda@vt-fiddle.com for more info or to register.
· Guided Customized Raw Food Challenges are
also available! Please contact me for information:
223-2111 or linda@vt-fiddle.com
· Tuesday, July 31st from 6-7 is the Raw Cremees
workshop at Hunger Mountain Coop. This is an
appliance-heavy workshop (meaning I'll be carrying
heavy appliances!) :-) But there'll be no excuses -
you'll be able to make yourself a raw soft serve
any time you want it
And now for the recipe:
Kohlrabi slaw
by Linda Wooliever
· 5-6 good sized kohlrabi, peeled and grated
· 4-5 large carrots, grated (peeled optional)
· a few of the kohlrabi greens, washed, de-
stemmed and chopped
· 1/4 of an onion, chopped (optional)
Put everything in a bowl and set aside. You can
substitute cabbage for kohlrabi or or include some
in as extra. Purple cabbage is my
favorite.
· 2 lemons, peeled and de-seeded
· 1 tsp ground ginger
· 1 pinch of ground mustard
· 3-4 Tbsp. olive oil
· 3-4 Tbsp. nama shoyu
· 1 medium orange, peeled and de-seeded
· 2-3 Tbsp. raw honey or agave
Put all ingredients in the Vita-Mix and blend for
like 30 seconds. Pour the dressing over the
veggies and let sit or serve immediately.
Whichever.

Under the Radar: Ten Warning Signs for
Today
By Heather Wokusch
The Smirking Chimp, July 22, 2007
Straight to the Source
1. Protest war, lose your property?
On July 17th, The White House quietly announced
an Executive Order entitled "Blocking Property of
Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization
Efforts in Iraq [0]." Among other developments, it
gives Bush the power to "block" the property of
people in the US found to "pose a significant risk
of committing" an act of violence which might
undermine "political reform in Iraq."
The terms "significant threat" and "act of violence"
are unclear. If you attend a demonstration against
Bush's definition of "political reform in Iraq" would
that count? How about writing an angry letter to
the editor?
The vague language also includes outlawing "the
making of any contribution or provision of funds,
goods, or services by, to, or for the benefit of any
person whose property and interests in property
are blocked pursuant to this order." What if you
donate to an anti-war group which, outside of your
knowledge, has been blacklisted by the
government? Does that mean that your property
can be "blocked"?
Similar to the Patriot Act, the potential
implications are staggering.

OG Event and Recipes |

Organic Garden - Intro to Raw
Home Chef Training
Contact: 978/922-0004
Address: Organic Garden Cafe * 294
Cabot St., Beverly, MA 01915
When: Saturday, August 18 @ OG
Cafe (held across the street @ Chianti's
Restaurant)
10am to 3:30 pm *** LIMITED SEATING ***
Recipes:
Fresh Berry Parfait with Citrus Cream
Any Berry will do, though Raspberries, Blueberries
and Strawberries are best. Layer them into
an ice cream dish, parfait or wine glass, with a
Cream Sauce. Blend either Macadamia or
Cashew with sweet and /or acid fruit (acid is best
for food combining principles). Example: 1
cup Cashew, 1 Tbl Lemon Juice, and approx 1
cup orange juice (OR 1 Orange peeled and
deseeded + 3/4 cup water + 2 Tbl agave nectar).
IF too much liquid add more cashew, if
not enough add more liquid.
Melon Shake
1 half a cantalope - discard seeds, peel skin.
Chop into cubes and throw in blender.
You do not need to add any water. Use
a plastic cup to push the melon pieces down into
the blade, just enough to get it blending.
The drink is sweet & frothy!
Cucumber Cooler - will really help keep you
cool
1 Medium to Large Cucumber
1/2 Lime
1 tsp to 2 Tbl Agave Nectar or Honey
If you have juicer then juice the cucumber and
lime. Stir in Agave 1 to 2 tsp, then pour over
lots of ice.
If you have only a blender, peel the cucumber and
lime, blend with 1/2 cup of Water, and you will
need higher amount of Agave/.Honey 1 to 2 Tbl.
Pour over ice in glass
A wonderful simple summer PESTO recipe - 2 to
4 ingredients .
I have doing this one at
home several times a week with garden basil.
Presto Pesto
Serves 1 or 2, or double this.
Pick a handful of fresh basil (about a 1/2 cups
worth or more ) from the garden
Approx 12 Brazil nuts
2 tsp olive oil (optional as Brazil nut is so oily
anyway)
1/8 tsp to 1/4 tsp sea salt (more or less , or even
none)
Blend in a coffee grinder while shaking the grinder
to move the nuts around
Particularly amazing if you just picked the basil
from your garden.
Brazil nut is much cheaper than pine nut, but
works just as well.

Miracle Healing Class Intro |
 |
For all those who missed the last intro to my
miracle healing class held at my house, there will
be one more intro given this summer, at the
Theosophical Society, 21 Maple Street in
Arlington Center, Friday, July 27, 2007 from 7:30-
9:30 p.m.
I guarantee you will find it very exciting,
because modern physics, modern neurology,
modern mind/body medicine, modern cellular
biology, modern parapsychology, and modern
psychology/philosophy are all pointing to the
reality of spirit ie (consciousness) as prime in the
universe, and not matter. After seeing miraculous
recoveries during my employment at Hippocrates
Health Institute, I spent 20 years on research to
try to figure out why these people who got well
from so-called terminal illness, or serious chronic
disease, experienced their miracle, and I found the
answer. In most cases of miraculous recovery
from so-called terminal illness, the sick individual
after spiritual rebirth was able to access spiritual
powers, and this was the source of the miracle. If
you liked "What the Bleep Do We Know," I have
been told by one of the students in my past class,
this is the next step.
This talk will be an inspirational
introduction to what I discovered. It will be an
introduction to a 14 class series, or 7 class
shortened version, which will present a whole new
spiritual paradigm explaining miracles, and will
have people who had miracle healings share their
stories, thus showing my new spiritual paradigm
matches the evidence.
I hope you can make it. Please RSVP by
phone, and/or e-mail, and I will give you the
directions if necessary.
With my eyes always wide open for miracles, I'm
sincerely,
Barry Harris,
