The Melville Chamber Formula ...

An Ingredient to Your Success

As the Melville Chamber of Commerce continues to grow in effectiveness and membership we are often asked to explain the formula of our success. The answer is simple. Your Melville Chamber has only one goal ... to help you succeed.

The Melville Chamber prides itself in doing things a little differently than traditional business groups. Some organizations start out with noble missions but soon lose direction as staff and salaries grow. In time they find their main mission is to generate income in order to pay a high salaried administration. That is not how we do business at the Melville Chamber of Commerce. Since the Melville Chamber was created more than a decade ago as a non-profit volunteer organization we have dedicated ourselves to giving back to the community, not taking away from it.

The great majority of our events are presented free to our members and with only a nominal cost to our other guests. Low annual membership fees supplemented by the support of community minded corporate sponsorship enables the Chamber to present a full schedule of informative events in an intimate and highly interactive atmosphere.

More and more of our member companies take advantage of another personal service provided by the Chamber. We often serve as the door openers and match makers between members. It is our pleasure to set up mutually beneficial meetings between companies interested in doing business together. We are also here to recommend services, speak on your behalf to government offices and help answer any questions about doing business on Long Island. We can even provide speakers for programs for your management, employees or customers.

Since we a volunteer organization the Melville Chamber eagerly seeks to help other groups succeed. In our eyes we have no competition. We welcome collaboration and actively engage with with other local and distant business groups such as the Suffolk County Coalition of the Chambers of Commerce.

We realize that the strength of any business environment is found in a strong community filled with happy and prosperous residents. The charitable efforts of the Chamber for the Huntington Town Wide Fund, the Salvation Army, Cystic Fibrosis and others help us do our part to build a better Long Island and be good neighbors.

In order to truly understand the formula of success offered by the Melville Chamber of Commerce you need to experience it first hand. Many of you will do just that on Tuesday, October 25 at the Chamber's Annual Business Expo when more than 1,000 business focused Long Islanders will fill the Melville Marriott. For more information about the Business Expo call (631) 777-6260. There is still time to participate!

If you can make it to the October 25th Business Expo be sure to say hello to me, Ted Macaluso or any of our Board members and have the opportunity to meet our featured exhibitors. It will be our pleasure to start discussing how we can help you. We can start that day by introducing you personally to some of our terrific members.
