Letter from the President, Michael DeLuise

If  there is a single benefit to businesses large or small that has come out of the economic crisis faced by our nation over the past several years it is the rediscovery of the basics of doing business.

At the Melville Chamber of Commerce we are here to help you focus on the basics.

The Melville Chamber of Commerce is steadily growing in membership and strength as more and more local companies decide to actively participate in the thriving business community along the Route 110 Corridor, the heartbeat of Long Island business. Without a doubt things have not been easy for those attempting to make a living in America.  We seldom her anyone say, "it's business as usual." Those are words from our past.

In order to survive and thrive Melville Chamber members are becoming more active in Long Island life. We know that individuals and entire communities must be ready and able to change coarse due to national and international economic, political and environmental events that seem to appear overnight. Even though we live and work in Nassau and Suffolk counties our Chamber realizes no one community stands as an island to itself. If our neighbors do well so do we.

We can offer you assistance no matter who you are or where you do business. More than half a century ago Long Island businesses created a proud tradition of providing our nation with the best products, technology and services while offering our residents a remarkable quality of life. Today the community leaders of the Route 110 Corridor continue to serve as mentors and role models to those in search of commercial and social excellence.

As local business bounces back from recent challenges, it is up to community minded organizations such as the Melville Chamber to work with you to help take advantage of the great opportunities that are ahead. Do not hesitate to call on us. We are always there to help promote the good you do or work with you to remove anything that might be in the way of your progress.

Whether you are one of the dozens of new member companies who joined the Chamber in recent months or one of the hundreds who have been with us for years we encourage and welcome your active participation.

As you plan for a terrific Long Island summer remember your Chamber takes no vacation.  Join us for the series of great events planned throughout July and August.  Sign up for the fun filled 2nd Annual Hunt Long Island set for Saturday September 24th 2011 and our #1 Networking Event of the year, our "Annual Business Expo" on October 25th. Then prepare yourself and your colleagues for a fall schedule of morning and evening events presented with only one purpose - to help you succeed.

And thank you again for helping the Melville Chamber of Commerce grow into the important business organization we have become. Without you we would not be here.
