Letter from the President, Michael DeLuise

Brother, can you spare some time?

Things are really hopping at the Melville Chamber of Commerce, the fastest growing business association on Long Island. Our always-expanding calendar of intimate events has branded our Chamber as the go to place for one-on-one advice and relevant connections.

In these still tight economic times it seems to help that Melville Chamber events provide extraordinary value while maintaining our traditional free or very low cost event admission policy for our members. We even do everything possible to keep the cost to non-members at a very reasonable level.

If you are interested in doing business in the 110 Corridor, the Melville Chamber is for you. For some we are an exciting and cost effective networking group where you can actually speak with and get to know local officials, other business leaders and potential customers.

When you find yourself faced with a challenge to the success of your business your fellow members are readily available to volunteer their advice and personal connections to help you solve any problem - big or small.

The Melville Chamber is proud to be a group of volunteers willing to dedicate themselves to providing all of our neighbors with the highest quality of life on Long Island. Most importantly these good people realize that one organization cannot do it alone. To help Long Island and Long Islanders flourish the Chamber and our members reach out continually to offer assistance and collegiality to other business groups, not-for profits, community groups and government offices.

Being a volunteer group with very low overhead we are not in existence to make money or pay salaries. The Melville Chamber has only one purpose - to help you succeed. To help you find the greatest benefit in your membership in the Chamber you must participate. Come to meetings, invite your colleagues to join you, participate on committees and make suggestions to help us become more effective.

One very fulfilling way you can actively become more involved in securing a better Long Island is to learn about and join the Chamber's mentoring program. Whether you are a traveled and sage business leader willing to give up a little free time to nurture the career of an extremely talented  young executive or if you are that young professional looking for an experienced mentor, our mentoring program presented through the Melville Chamber's Young Professional Group can open the door to a successful and meaningful future.

To find out more about our mentoring program and the many other opportunities provided to our members call the Melville Chamber of Commerce office at 631- 777-6260 or visit the Chamber website at www.melvillechamber.org.

Best regards,

Michael DeLuise
President
