| | With all the jumping around we do at Missio Dei during the summer, I just want to make sure that everyone is aware that our regular worship will be at Camp Manitoqua this Sunday, August 8, at 10:00 am. Can't wait to see you then.

Donate Backpacks to Roseland Children

This school supply drive is going on now. We need at least 70 backpacks by August 15. Get more details and a list of needed supplies at the City Plaza.
We are partnering with Roseland Christian Ministries for the 3rd year to provide backpacks to school-aged children.
By purchasing supplies, you will be giving children in the Roseland
neighborhood area adequate school supplies for the 2010-2011 school
year. Our goal is to fill 70 backpacks!! There are 3 ways you can get
involved:
- Fill an entire backpack (or 2 or 3 or more!) and bring to church or the ministry center by Sunday, August 15th.
- Donate supplies or empty backpacks and we will fill the backpacks
for you! Again, bring to church or the ministry center by Sunday,
August 15th.
- Make a donation (payable to Missio Dei Church with Backpack project
in the subject line). If you choose this option, please let us know by
Sunday, August 15th via email or phone that the donation is coming so
that we can get supplies purchased as soon as possible.

Strong Tower Day

Once a year Missio Dei Church welcomes the staff and residents of
Roseland Christian Ministries' Strong Tower out to Camp Manitoqua for
relaxing break from city life.
"The
Strong Tower, our women and children's interim housing, was opened in
October of 2001 when it became apparent that there was a greater need
to provide housing for homeless mothers in the City of Chicago. RCM's
Strong Tower houses single mothers and their children year round in our
main facility." -Roseland Christian Ministries
On August 28th we are going to need volunteers
through out the day (10AM-5PM) to help us grill food, play games,
entertain toddlers, mingle with adults, and take pictures. If you are
available to help in the morning (10-1:30), afternoon (1:30-5), or all
all day, you can volunteer on The City, or by emailing Emily Schissler. Please respond by the 25th of August. |
