Missio Dei Church
Weekly Update for the Week of January 31

Haiti
Supporting Haiti
OFFERINGS AT MISSIO DEI

If you haven't heard by now, the country of Haiti was hit with several massive earthquakes on January 12.  What should our response be? How should we, as a church, come together to help bring aid? As you've read or heard, this is a massive tragedy, and we, the church, must have a response.

The Elders of Missio Dei Church decided that we will be financially supporting two different organizations.
Special love offerings will be taken through Sunday, February 14 during communion.  These offerings will be in addition to our regular tithes and offerings and benevolence.  During the week of February 14, we will reexamine whether or not to continue taking special offerings for Haiti.

We believe that we can collect more than $4,000 as a church and would love for this to be an expression of our willingness to "bear one another's burdens... especially to those who are of the household of faith."

Skiing
Snowboarding/Skiing Trip
BUILDING COMMUNITY IN THE SNOW

PLEASE RSVP HERE!

The MDC third annual snowboarding trip is going to be Saturday, February 6th at Devil's Head Resort in Wisconsin. We will gather at the Ministry Center at 6:00 AM and drive up in a large vehicle for a day of fun in the snow. Each year proves to be a great day of riding, chillin', and connecting. So whether you are a pro or beginner, join us for a great time in the snow.

COSTS: Those who would like to go will cover their own lift ticket, rental, lunch. Additionally each person is asked to pitch in for gas money. If you have any questions at nathan@mdchurch.us

Second Tuesday Prayer
Releasing PrayerWe believe that prayer is a vital part of worshiping our Savior. We want to be people who are in communication with their God as they drive, as they go to class, as they work, as they spend time with family or friends. We believe that God listens to, cares about, and responds to the prayers of those who know Him.

Second Tuesday is our monthly time of community prayer.  We will be meeting in the Peace Community Church library on Tuesday, February 9, at 7:00 pm.

You can RSVP and get directions here.
Sweetness of Community
HOW SWEET IT IS...

The Phillips will be hosting an event called "The Sweetness of Community" in their home on Sunday, January 31, from 7:00-8:30 pm.  This event is a time for fellowship and testimony, as we gather together our small groups to celebrate the community God has created at Missio Dei.  Whether you are already part of a small group or not, you are invited to join in this opportunity to praise God for all His blessings.

RSVP here and let the Phillips know if you can share a dessert.
Donate Your Ink Cartridges
The children's ministry - Kid's Crossing - is asking for your help.  We want all your old and used up ink cartridges to turn in to purchase new tables and chairs for the kids.  Just drop your old ink cartridges into the marked trash can at the back of church.  For more info please contact Andy Raatjes.
