SOLIDLINE TO PRODUCE 2012-2013 SEASON OF NSLS BROADCASTS

Some of the most accomplished leaders in the world will be speaking to America's best and brightest students -- and SolidLine Media will be there to broadcast it to the membership. Once again, we're partnering with the National Society of Leadership and Success. The organization helps people discover and achieve their goals through motivational messages, support, and life-changing lectures.

Over the coming year, the NSLS will be featuring six of the nation's leading speakers -- Vernice "Flygirl" Armour, Hilary Duff, Hill Harper, Kevin Bracy, Brad Meltzer, and Peter Bregman. More than 45,000 students, faculty, and administrators from across the country will be watching them LIVE, broadcasted from auditoriums in over 300 colleges and universities.

For the second year in a row, SolidLine Media will be in charge of the broadcasts -- shooting these speeches and beaming them LIVE to locations across the country, and the world. The three-camera shoot will feature all elements of live television, including animated graphics and even Closed Captioning.

"The broadcasts have been extremely successful," says Tim Duffy, Broadcast Producer of the NSLS. "SolidLine's team has been fantastic to work with. We're looking forward to another successful season of speakers."

What happens when your brother is a client? SolidLine's Executive Producer Greg Vass found out the hard way when his brother Brian Vass (and Qvidian VP of Marketing) put Greg in charge of being the Qvidian mascot at Connect12, the company's annual customer conference. How did it go over? Take a look at the video below and you be the judge...

SLM EXPANDS POST DEPARTMENT, WELCOMES NEW CREW

SolidLine is proud to welcome two new designers to our Art Department. Adam Marzec and Ethan Barnowsky have joined the SolidLine crew in the past couple of months and are excelling in their graphics roles. The two designers join SLM veteran Art Director Mike Petrik and Motion Graphics Artist Justin Younger.

"The demand for high end motion graphics and 3D animation continues to grow here at SolidLine," states SLM Director of Post Production Michael Kromm. "And we're excited to keep seeing what these SLM art gurus come up with in the future!"

INTERN EDITING CHALLENGE: WINNER REVEALED

Last month, SolidLine Media clients, viewers, and readers voted in SLM's first annual Intern Editing Challenge. Summer Interns Dylan Ptak and Ryne Knudson went head to head, editing a three-minute SLM anniversary video using the same interview footage of our crew.

We posted both of their creations on the SolidLine blog and asked visitors to vote for their favorite. After a week of voting, the competition was closed. And while both interns are winners in our book, the video with the highest number of votes was made by Intern Dylan Ptak! Congratulations to both Dylan and Ryne for their hard efforts.

The New Puzzler!

That's right folks, September is National Courtesy Month! It's never too late to do a good deed for a friend, family member, or colleague. Whether it be holding the door open for the person behind you, sending flowers to someone special, or simply flashing a contagious smile -- studies show that acts of kindness and courtesy can greatly affect those around you. It's also good to be knowledgable of what triggers unkind behavior, and where....

The Question:

78% of people think the most rude behavior exists where?

A. Hospitals

B. Grocery & Department Stores

C. Airports & Highways

D. Train Stations

Think you know the answer?  Send it in to puzzler@solidlinemedia.com.  If you're the first correct respondent, you will win a box of stylish SolidLine-branded coasters. Good luck and thanks for playing The SolidLine Puzzler!

2 Qs with SolidLine Motion Graphics Artist Ethan Barnowsky

What's it like working in the SolidLine Art Department?

There's a lot of talk about negative space, Van Gogh, 3D explosions, etc. so you probably wouldn't understand. I know I don't.... But honestly, the entire department is incredibly talented and it's hard not to learn something new from each other about our craft every day.

What is the nicest thing someone has done for you at SLM?

Someone makes fresh coffee every morning. I like to think it was made for me by an angel. Thanks!
