More than 500 runners and walkers woke up early on Saturday, September 25 to help support
Bears Care and benefit local disadvantaged families by participating in the 8th annual
Midtown 5K Run & Walk, hosted by Midtown Athletic Club in Palatine, IL and sponsored
by SolidLine Media for the 8th straight year.
Former Chicago Bears Emery Moorehead and Jim Schwantz joined in the fun which included a
3.1-mile run/walk and post race party featuring plenty of food and live entertainment
courtesy of 5K sponsors.
"At Midtown, we are devoted to making our community a better place," said Robyn Kove,
Midtown Athletic Club Palatine director of marketing and member connections who also
serves as 5K race director. "We are proud that so many community members responded to our
call to action and contributed to our donation to Bears Care to help us improve the lives
of many of our neighbors."
Proceeds from the 8th annual Midtown 5K Run & Walk benefit Bears Care, the charitable
beneficiary of the Chicago Bears, which is committed to improving the quality of life for
people in the Chicagoland community, especially disadvantaged children and their families,
through targeted programs supporting education, youth athletics and medical research and
health awareness programs focusing on breast and ovarian cancer.
SolidLine has been a premier sponsor of the event since its beginning 8 years ago. Over
the years more than 4,000 runners have participated helping to raise over $150,000 for
the Bears Care charity.

THE SOLIDLINE PUZZLER

Last Month's Puzzler
Your bed and light switch are 15 feet apart. Without using any object or mechanical
device, no pole, no remote switch, how can you turn off the light and get into bed
before the room is dark?
Congrats to last month's puzzler winner, Brad Belcaster from Belcaster Realty, who
was the first to correctly identify the correct answer, "Turn off the light during
the day." Thanks to all of those who responded, including the few who suggested
getting a Clapper, which we all found quite amusing and should get credit for
their creativity!
The New Puzzler!
October is here and that means Halloween is right around the corner. Here's a 'not
so spooky' trivia question for you.
Last year the US produced 1.1 Billion pounds of pumpkins. One state produced the most,
coming in at a whopping 419 Million pounds of the vined orange gourd. Which state
produced the most pumpkins?
Think you know the answer? Send it in to
puzzler@solidlinemedia.com.
Our first email with the right answer will win a special SolidLine prize!

Kristy Litz, Production Apprentice
Kristy is working with SolidLine for a few months under Hollywood's Film Connection
program. The Film Connection helps to place those interested in pursuing a job in
the production industry with a real world experience to get a glimpse of what it's
all about. And for the last 3 months Kristy has been on several shoots and shadowed
editing and graphics as she learns more about the world of SolidLine (we told her
not to take any notes!), and the production industry.
What's unique about what SolidLine does that you did now know about before your apprenticeship?
Not to give away any behind-the-scenes secrets, but the real magic happens in
the office when the shoes come off. You know the SolidLine Media crew are
serious if you are looking at socks. I think that footwear must prevent a
higher level of focus, because when it comes off, the office is a whirlwind of
ideas and solutions and that's when things really get accomplished.
What has been your most favorite shoot so far?
I loved working on the Transparent Health project. It was the perfect example
of how you can have fun even when working on a serious, important subject. I
got an insight into the production process, and learned that in order to have
such a good time and a successful shoot. It takes a lot of planning and talent.
