year.

Welcoming Dr. Peters to St. Olaf, President David R. Marty Professor of Religion and the Academy."

Peters, a renowned author and scholar whose work focuses on the dialogue between theology and science, will serve in this capacity for the entire 2009 calendar year. During his residency, he will teach during the Interim and fall semester, sponsor colloquia and dialogues with faculty and students, and lead a faculty seminar.
Organic Gardening Comes to the Delaware Apartments

The tenants at the Delaware apartments, where senior MDiv Justin Baxter is the manager, received funding through the Lilly Foundation Faith Active in Love grant to begin organic gardening there.  They have been able to build a small-scale urban garden with eleven plots utilizing a drip irrigation system.  Those who are growing their vegetables in the raised beds are committing themselves to a way of gardening that practices biodynamics: All organic, sustainability, composting, proper crop rotation, and water management.

Dels Garden
The first planting took place less
than a month ago and folks have
already had meals from their
gardens!  Look for regular
updates and pictures both
here and on the PLTS website.
