Greetings!
At last, we've got a round-up of the Cannes Film Festival for you. Seems like a while ago now, doesn't it? Time flies in this industry. Enclosed you will find some reports on the market, the best and the worst films to look out for and two very different experiences of Cannes: one from some first-timers, and one from Rory, who's seen it all before. I don't know what you thought you had planned for the Monday after next (13th), but this is just to let you know that you'll now be attending Boozin' N Schmoozin' so you can chat with other newsletter readers. Thanks for reading, and as always, let me know if you've got feedback or suggestions: jamesburbidge@raindance.co.uk James Burbidge Editor |

Student success stories
Former Raindance student James Hacking has been in contact to let us know he's written and directed his first feature, 'Love's Kitchen' with Claire Forlani and Dougray Scott, which is having it's premiere tonight!
James writes: "I consider Raindance my post graduate course as far as film making goes. Having spent ten years in LA; studying at UCLA, working as a story analyst and writing spec scripts, it was only when I got back to London and took some classes during the winter of 07/08 and in 2009 at Raindance that I finally managed to put the whole thing together as Writer/Director/Producer."
And in a slightly different genre former student Rhys Davies, who took 'Directing Actors' in February 2010, has just had 'Zombie Undead' released to DVD.
Great work, and best of luck with all the future projects James & Rhys!
