Greetings!

Rory O'DonnellAs with last year I'll be writing up my 'Alternative Cannes Report' which will hopefully be ready for next week's newsletter, just in time for you to have forgotten all about Cannes.

I have a rather different take on Cannes from the other members of the team as I rarely see films and I'm not particularly enthusiastic about the parties, which are usually rather damp squibs. The highlight of my visits to Cannes are meeting people involved in the film industry from all round the world. I therefore spend most of my time in the pavilions of the 73 countries with a presence at Cannes, picking up information and snaffling a few DVDs of films (125 this year).

So, when the 'Alternative Cannes Report' is ready expect to find information on the best tax credit deals, co-production finance, the weirdest movie titles ('Happy Fruit Village' and 'Claypot Curry Killer' amongst them), the best free food and an awful lot about Azerbaijan.

Have Fun,

Rory O'Donnell
