Want to try a Thanksgiving weekend?
Apparently it involves family and films (and football, but forget about that). So if you're going to watch films about Thanksgiving you might as well be watching the good ones right?

| Have you got what it takes to create a film worthy of launching the Raindance Film Festival?
Here's your chance to prove it. Raindance has teamed up with Pepsi Max to launch the Pepsi 'MAX IT' Film Competition.
We are inviting you to create a short film about what 'max it' means to you and your mates. The best film will be chosen by a panel of industry judges to launch the 2011 Raindance Film Festival. Its creator will also win an amazing £30,000 production budget to create a film that will also screen at the festival, as well as a VIP trip for two to the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.
Films should be between one and two minutes in length and must adhere to rules which you can read here. For more information and to enter your 'MAX IT' film, go to the raindance.tv website. Submissions are open until Sunday 12th December!
We look forward to seeing how you 'MAX IT'!

Just what is Thanksgiving?
|

Hang on a minute - what is Thanksgiving?
|
| What is Thanksgiving exactly? Some sort of ritual sacrifice of a turkey and gathering of the family.
What does it mean to that curious population? Luckily a few of our interns are from the good ol US of A so we asked them: "Thanksgiving is my third favorite holiday. Part of the reason I like it so much is because I'm allowed to eat dinner twice, maybe even three times, in that one day and no one can judge me for it. The leftovers are also sensational. It's mostly all about the food. My mother makes a really good turkey pot pie." Alaina "What thanksgiving means to me? The three things Americans do best: Food. Football. Family (and as an added bonus, naps!)." Lauren
"Thanksgiving to me means canned cranberry sauce and Tom the Turkey." Justin "Thanksgiving is the windup for Black Friday and the horror of Holiday Greed. Grim thought. But made more comforting by the fact that all most people want to do is hang out at home with their families and friends and remember what is great, and annoying, about our nearest and dearest." Brenna Seems like a practice run for Christmas, if you ask us. Still an excuse for a holiday and a slap-up meal is not to be sniffed at.

Box Office of Turkeys of 2010 |
| No-one (not even Hollywood types) makes a film hoping for a box office failure.
But, my god, are there some awful films out there. Do they flop because of the quality, the marketing strategy or some strange root of chaos theory?
We take a look at the biggest box office turkeys of 2010 to try and find out.
(And yes, that's Marilyn Monroe about to shoot a turkey. Dressed as 'sexy pilgrim.')
