Greetings!

Alan NibloHi friends,

Suffice it to say I'm new to the Raindance community - today marks the end of my first week interning here. I came in to the office expecting to stand out - as I'm an American student from Temple University, Philadelphia. But surprisingly, we have a very international staff here.

Like the Raindance staff, our films offer an eclectic mix of talents through perspectives worldwide. You can find a full schedule of all our films on the website and also on our just-delivered festival mini-catalogues.

If you want a handful please swing by the office and grab some or email us and we'll stick a bunch in the mail.
We'd be grateful if you spread them around.

I'm pretty psyched about being a part of Raindance's 18th time around and hope you are too. Maybe I'll see you at the Opening Gala?

The essence of cinema is editing. It's the combination of what can be extraordinary images of people during emotional moments, or images in a general sense, put together in a kind of alchemy.

All you're trying to do in an improvisation is get as much material as possible for the editing room.

Looking at a first assembly is kind of like looking at an overgrown garden. You can't just wade in with a weed whacker; you don't yet know where the stems of the flowers are
